1. Entry fees will be paid as a team whether one or two entrants. Lunker pool entries will be an automatic part of entry fee.
2. All participants must have a valid Nova Scotia fishing license.
3. Each team member must meet and comply with all the safety requirements of the Canadian Coast Guard. All teams are required to practice safe boating, sportsmanlike conduct and courtesy to all non competitors who may also be using the tournament waters.
4. All participants are required to wear an approved PFD (must be fastened) while the combustion engine is in operation.
5. No alcohol or non prescription drugs will be permitted in the boat during the tournament, anyone caught with these items will be banned from further competition that year.
6. Each boat must have a ‘livewell’ to keep a limit of fish alive for the duration of the tournament. An acceptable minimum for a livewell will be: an aerated Cooler / Rubbermaid type container with cover. Water changes recommended during the day.
7. Fishing may take place anywhere on the tournament waters except within 25 yards of another boat (this means that you may not cast your lure within 25 yards of another boat) unless permitted by the other team.
8. At the end of competition it is the responsibility of each team to check-in with tournament officials. A limit of five fish to be weighed-in, with no more than six fish in the livewell at any time. All fish to be weighed-in must be accompanied with an A.V.B.C. bag.
9. An 8oz penalty for each min. past check-in time, over ten min late will result in disqualification.
10. Only artificial baits can be used. No ‘live bait’ or ‘prepared bait’ will be permitted. Only one rod and reel may be used at any given time but others may be rigged and ready for use in the boat. No trolling is permitted.
11. Each team will be permitted to weigh in a limit of FIVE smallmouth bass. No team will come to the weigh in with more than five fish in their possession. A 1/4 lb (0.25 lb or 4 oz ) penalty will be deducted from the total weight for a dead fish or any fish the Tournament Director deems unfit for release. A team can only weigh ONE dead fish per day. You cannot weigh a dead fish for lunker.
12. Pre-fishing of the tournament waters will be allowed up to and including the Sunday preceding the tournament.
13. All fishing must be done from the boat.
14. Participants may not go to shore, except at tournament weight-in site.(Except in dire emergency)
15. Tournament times: One day tournaments 7:00am - 2:30pm
Two day tournaments Sat 12:00pm - 7:30pm Sun. 7:00 am - 2:30 p.m.
16. The canals are a NO WAKE ZONE!! There will be no fishing in the canals with the gas motor running. The right of way will be given to the boats under power.
17. All protests must be lodged prior to completion of the weigh-in. All decisions by the Tournament officials are final.
1. All tournaments will be team events. A team is one or two persons. When a team registers in their first event of the year, they will be known as that team for the remaining events. If one team member cannot participate in a tournament then the remaining team member can fish alone or use a one time substitution. If a team uses more than one substitution during the year then that team will not gain points from that tournament for overall point standings for that year. To accumulate points you must be (AVBC) club members. The team with the highest points at the end of the season will be declared the winners and series champions. Trophies and prizes will be given out at the members only tournament.
2. All other rules apply. POINT STRUCTURE: Fifteen points for 1st place, one point for 15th place, scaled in between. Five points for each tournament fished. One point for each fish weighed up to the maximum five fish. Three points for the lunker fish of the tournament. The top five teams will be eligible to compete in the Nova Scotia Bass Classic Championships.
