See my new page dedicated to Rail-fan Trips and My Model Railroad (The GRR) http://www.gemperfilm.com Welcome to the Gauley River Railroad
(The GRR)

The GRR is a model railroad like most model railroads is under construction

The time period for the railroad is set in the early 80's, prior to the N&W and Southern Railway merger.  Don't expect to see any NS units or NS Steam units on this railroad.  The Gauley has a couple of steamers of its own which connect to for now, an offline resort.

The railroad is a Prototypical Freelance bridge-line owned by the N&W and Conrail.  A "what if?" scenario.  Please refer to the GRR History page for more information.

The railroad will have a coal mine online as well as a power plant.  Expect to see lots of N&W power and coal hoppers since the N&W leases the mainline from the Gauley (more will be explained in the future).  Also exepect to see regular freight and some Conrail and Amtrak action too.

The railroad is 10 ft. x 10 ft. and utilizes a NCE Digital Command Control System.

Please bookmark and come back to check on my progress!  I have also added a construction history page with significant events in the construction.

Check Out My DCC Pages!

Click on the GRR DCC to the left and also check out construction photos as well as other railfanning photos.

New Information
It is HO scale. I have mixed feelings about it. It is a very good runner and could serve for run through. I may keep it myself and maybe run it at some shows, especially where I know my former club...
