Who is SAFER (Survivors Advocating For Effective Reform) ?  Survivors of domestic violence who have worked through our personal process.   We want to change things in our community, state, and nation so that all women will be safe from domestic violence.  We are willing to do what we can: write letters; say what we think about the laws and policies that are working and not working; visit the lawmakers; and meet with other change agents in our community.   What do you think needs to happen to effect change?

This is my story, Please learn from my experiences. May God bless and keep you safe. We are Survivors of Domestic Abuse. We kno the pain, the hurt, the humiliation and the worthlessness. We know the excuses the silence and the brave front for others. We know the loneliness when it seems no one understands or can help. We know the fear of living with the torment and the violence, and the fear of what would happen if you leave. We know how it feels like your nothing. We know how you think it will get better, and how it feel when it doesn't. We know what it feels like, We know how difficult it is, especially the decision to leave for good. We know and so do many others because we lived it. Theres no excuse for Domestic violence!!!!!!

OF YOUR LIFE THE REST WILL BE NEW!!! -

I started out my young life like this.  Because i had an abusive alcoholic father, and so it continued, all of my childhood. Ive had some very embarrassing times in my life, connected to this also.  Often never knew who or what to turn to in life for help and assistance! It was a bad time my childhood reminds me of a Freddy Kruger film!!  However i learned to live with it, and to deal with it, as there was nothing else i could do! I've moved on now and have a generally happy life.  Two beautiful daughters, im so very proud of, and a wonderfully spirited grandson!!  What more could i ask for?? I also have the greatest guy i could've wished for now, wonderful, understanding and caring, understands me inside n out!! Ha ha, thought that would never happen, but there you go! But although i have all those wonderful things, sometimes i still get sad.  Do u know why?? Because of that deep sadness inside me.  It will go with me to my grave! Its part of me.  Does anyone know where im coming from??  Write to me with your stories and ill reply-
