TABLE OF CANDLE COLOURS

  

RED - Red of course is the colour of energy.  It is the colour associated with the deities Ares, Mars, Vulcan, the Morrigu, Arawn, Cerridwen, Lugh, Scathach and all deities associated with war, revenge, smithing etc.  Use red candles when seeking strength, energy, sexual potency, courage and will power and when wishing to bring stability and rhythm into your life or when calling on/honouring any of these deities.  Use along with jasper and bloodstone and the incenses  dragons' blood and pine. Use red candles if your animal spirit guide is the bear, horse, ram, wolf or basilisk.

  

YELLOW - yellow is of course the colourof the sun so is associated with all solar deities and also deities asscoiated with healing and illumination, such as Apollo, Helios, Ra, Osiris, Adonis, Bel, Bran, Belenos, the Dagda etc.Use yellow candles when seeking illumination or spiritual healing.  Use with topaz or yellow jacinth and with the incences chamomile, frankincense, cinnamon or orange.  Use yellow candles if your animal spirit guide is the hawk, lion, peacock, phoenix or snake.

   

BLUE - use pale blue candles in all practices associated with the Moon, ie. deities such as Ariadne, Diana, Cerridwen, Arianrhod, Hera.  Use pale blue candles if your animal spirit guide is the boar, dog, fish, hart, or hare.  Use with moonstone, quartz, pearl and with the incenses lily, jasmine and lotus.    Use dark blue candles for all practices associated with or honouring Jupiter, Poseidon, Sucellus, Zeus and Danu.  Use with sapphire, amethyst and lapis lazlu and the incenses cedar, olive oil, wood aloe, carnation.  Use dark blue if your animal spirit guide is the unicorn or the eagle

  

PINK - pink is of course the colour of love. Pink is associated with Venus, Aphrodite, Arianrhod, Brigit, Blodeuwedd, Branwen, Angus Mac Og, Cupid, Anteros, Eros, Amor etc.  Use pink candles for seeking a renewed love of life, creativity, fertility, friendship, inspiration, the arts. Use with coral, rose quartz and amber and the incenses rose, apple blossom, sandalwood and mint.  Use pink candles if your animal spirit guide is the cat, dove, lynx, sparrow or swan.

   

GREEN - green and brown candles can be used in all practices associated with Earth and grain. Use green and brown candles in all rituals associated with the deities Freya, Rhiannon, Anu, Cernnunos, Herne the Hunter and for all elementals such as gnomes, fairies, nymphs , dryads.  Use with rock crystal and emerald and the incenses cloves, cherry, birch, lilac and myrtle.  Use green and brown if your spirit guide is an elemental.

  

INDIGO - indigo and violet candles can be used in all rituals associated with the deities Saturn, Persephone, Cybele, Nanosuelta, Ogma, Badba, Don and Danu.  Use with sapphire, turquoise, jet and the incenses cypress, patchouli and sandalwood.  Use indigo or violet candles if your animal spirit guide is the crocodile, dragon or goat. 

  

SLATE- slate and orange can be used together for all practices associated with binding negative forces, protection, repelling dark thoughts or harmful elementals.  Use slate candles when entering the womb of time or calling on such deities as Pluto, Hades, Arawn, Aradia, Cerridwen, Diancecht.  Use with jet,ruby onyx and the incenses  ginger, dragons blood, woodruff and galangal.  Use slate if your animal spirit guide is the centaur or satyr.
