Thomas J. Walenski

First Director

Thomas J. Walenski's background includes sixteen years in purchasing.  He was  the Purchasing Manager at Menominee Tribal Enterprises from 1993-2005. Tom is currently a Senior Buyer for the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin  Tom is a graduate of Tarkio College, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management in 1989.  In Spring of 2002, he completed his Master's Degree in Administrative Science at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay.  In the Spring of 2000, Tom also became a Certified Project Manager.

Tom is well versed in all aspects of tribal purchasing and has dedicated his professional career to enhancing and promoting tribal procurement. Additionally, Tom has been a presenter at N.A.F.O.A. Conferences as well as several N.N.A.P.A. Conferences. Tom's career objective is to help tribes become efficient and competitive in the areas of procurement through continued education.  

Tom is currently in his third term as First Director of the National Native American Purchasing Association and has held past positions of President,President-Elect, First Director and Director at Large.
