Janet Pavatea
My name is Janet Pavatea. I am enrolled in the Hopi/Tewa tribe of the Northern Arizona,but have resided in Phoenix, AZ for the past 26 years. I am the mother of 3 children: Rod, Ryan and Renae and the proud grandmother of Latrell and Nesta.
I have spent over 20 years of Purchasing experience and related backgrounds. I have spent the past two years as the Purchasing Manager for the Native American Community Health Center in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to that I served eight years as the Purchasing/Warehouse/Fixed Assets Manager of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and six years as the Purchasing Agent for the Bureau of Indian Affairs-Phoenix Area Office. Other related jobs included Purchasing Agent for National Institutes of Health, Buyer for U-Haul International, and Purchasing Agent for BIA-Hopi Agency.
My career objective is to provide my employers with quality products and services from competitive environments in a ethical manner. This includes promoting Native businesses who are capable of establishing themselves in the competive market.
In regards to my educational background, I am a Sun Devil alumni. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree at the Arizona State University's College of Business.
My hobbies and interests include playing softball, spending time with my friends and family,attending Native functions, and watching a variety of sports.
