Our Rainbow Bridge Memorial Pages

Photo-©Lily, 2007

These pages are dedicated to all of our beloved pets who have passed on to the Rainbow Bridge.  There are no words, nor any amount of time, that can heal the loss we feel when we lose our special friends and their unconditional love...but through friendship, memorials and tributes we can help to comfort each other.  Our fuzzy angels wait at the Bridge until the day we are reunited once more.  May the hurt you feel at their time of passing, soon turn to smiles in remembering your special times together.  We keep the candles lit here, always.

All members are welcome to have memorials placed here for any of their beloved pets. Let us know on the messageboard what you would like posted and we will gladly add your tribute to these pages.  You can post a photo, candle, name, dates, poetry or any amount of writing you wish.

To read the Memorials, click on the individual pages in the left navigation bar.

The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still
Where the friends of man and woman do run
When their time on earth is over and done
For here between this world and the next
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest
On this golden land, they wait and they play
‘Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued
They romp through the grass, without even a care
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack
For just at that instant, their eyes have met
Together again, both person and pet
So they run to each other, these friends from long past
The time of their parting is over at last
The sadness they felt while they were apart
Has turned into joy once more in each heart
They embrace with a love that will last forever
And then, side by side, they cross over together.

In Memory of Pets

There are little graves beneath our old pear tree
Where lie two precious dogs, and kitties-three.
They were beloved pets while here below,
They rest now where the Iris and Roses grow.

'Snoopy', 'Tom', and 'Puttie' are the kitties' names,
When we called 'Booty' and 'Kristy', the little dogs came.

Sweet Snoopy was only a tiny thing,
Didn't know what danger the road could bring.

No one knew where Tom came from
When he arrived and decided to make "here" his home.
He made my daughter Suzanne his special friend,
Was gentle with her; otherwise, a "tough-cat" to the end.

Puttie was with us for twenty-one years,
Old age claimed her one day, despite prayers and tears.

Booty and Kristy were of the Schnauzer line.
Two better dogs would be hard to find.
The two were so different, each had their own ways,
Both were loved without question to the end of their days.

At Rainbow Bridge near Heaven's door
The day will come when we meet once more.
I know they are waiting and watching for me,
Those two little dogs and the kitties-three.

Light a Candle For Your Pet Here

Thank you to Lady Fuzz and the Wonder Ferts for the following story

"Mama", Kit, who was always speaking up with new questions, began. "What are those bright lights in the night sky? "
Jill sighed, and wondered if she'd ever get all of Kit's questions answered, before she went to her new home. "Well Kit, each one of those lights in the night sky is a fuzzy like us, that was loved very much. "
"Really!" Kit was surprised by this answer.
"Yes, little one. Each ferret is sent down to be loved, and to love in return, and make their human recall the joy and beauty in life. When you get your own human, remember to dance and to make them laugh at your antics, and teach them to find happiness in simple things."
"All right, Mama", Kit replied thoughtfully, "but how did those fuzzies get up there?"
"Well Kit, once a ferret learns what love is, and it's their time to return, Mother Earth takes their body to make beautiful flowers, their soul is sent to romp and play at the rainbow bridge, and their heart, which is full of love, ascends to Father Sky to be a single bright star. There they shine their love down on their special human. Love makes the stars shine. Being ferrets, of course some will wink playfully. That's why some of those stars look like they're blinking."
