Big Sandy News, Louisa, Lawrence Co. Ky; March 2, 1917, Friday.

In Memory- Mrs Clarinda Hewlett was born 13 Aug 1853; died Nov. 13, 1916. Age 58 years three months. Daughter of John and Margaret Rice Mullins.

She was a consistant member of the Baptist Church, and is survived by six children, Cecil Hewlett, Willie Hewlett, Mrs George Hershey of Hewlett, West Virginia, Miss Maggie Hewlett of Huntington, West Virginia, Birch of Alabama, and Mrs. B.E. Richard of Virginia; three brothers and two sisters. David Mullins of Catalpa, William and John Mullins, Mrs Nathaniel Warner, and

Mrs Elick Virse of Sciotoville, Ohio.

The remains were laid to rest in the family burying ground.

Leah Warner

 

Portsmouth Times; April 3, 1944;

Portsmouth, Ohio

Mrs. Leah Warner , 71, passed away Monday afternoon at

her home in Fullerton, Kentucky. She had been suffering with

asthma and Brights disease and had been ill since Christmas.

The widow of Nathaniel P Warner, who died Jan. 16, 1941.

Mrs. Warner was born March 27, 1873, in Lawrence Co. Ky.

A daughter of John and Margaret Rice Mullins. She moved to

Greenup Co. Ky., 50 years ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Fannie Wheeler, with whom

she resided and Clara Dawson of Louisville, Ky., and three sons

Harry of Portsmouth, Ohio, James of Oak Hill, Ohio and

Nathaniel of South Shore, Ky., and a brother William of

Kansas. A daughter Margaret Warner preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the

Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery

under the direction of J.R. Morton & son.

Richard French "Billy" Hewlett, born 09 Feb 1896 at

Hewlett, West Virginia.

A son of William Henry Hewlett and Clarinda Mullins.

Husband of Frances Smith for 52 years, died 20 Oct 1979,

age 83 years at J.J.Jordon Geriatic Center, Louisa, Ky.

He was a retired farmer.

Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetary, Route 1, Kenova, West Virginia.

Survivors: wife, one daughter Mrs. Ruth Hodge of Winder, Georgia. Two sons Frank L. Hewlett, Kenova, West Virginia,

Marvin Luke Hewlett of Norton, Ohio. Nine grandchildren, Three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Member of Tabors Creek Baptist Church 48 years.

Member of Mansons and a WWl veteran.
