Booker and Sarah Mullins died in Lawrence Co. Feb 24, 1874.

Hello,

You may copy the Melungeon Mullins family history for the
Mullins Community.  I also placed a link under the
Recommendations links in the community.

Sure, you may post a copy of this email to you on your Web
page.  You mentioned the 1870 Census - Lawrence County,
KY... do you have that posted somewhere?  I think the 1860
Census could tell us something if you had a copy of that.

I looked through a lot of names, and I never have seen a
Sarah married to a Booker.  Also I would like to know more
about this BARE name.  Hopefully Marlin Aker will get back
with me on this.

Isham d. 24 Feb. 1874 Lawrence Co., KY and his death record states his parents were Booker and Sarah Mullins. A deed in Pike County states Booker Mullins Sr. was of "Lawrence County, Kentucky" in 1823. If you need more info, let me know. I published a book on the Mullins families of East KY and Southwest VA but never posted it on the Genforum because of the policy against advertisements. If anyone would be interested in a copy, let them know. Best wishes. cornelius@kymail.co

Jacqueline,
I believe Booker Mullins Sr. was only married once and this would
prob.
have taken place ca 1787-1788.  The other supposed marriage apparently
is
taken from an inaccurate record which mistakenly lists a niece as his
daughter.  Yes, this is the old Booker Mullins Sr. of Bold Camp.
Booker had
13 children according to the census records (but there is very little
documentation and their names must be gathered through a variety of
sources):  James b. ca 1788 md Agnes Little; Sherwood "Sherd" b. ca
1790 md
Mary "Polly" Roberts; David b. ca 1798 md Virginia Jane "Jenny" Short;
Ann
b. ca 1800 md Charles Short; William L.H. "Lame Hand" b. ca 1790 md
Elizabeth Roberts; John b. ca 1798 md Mary Hamilton; Pleasant b. ca
1799 md
Martha "Patsy" Fultz; Isham "Isom" b. ca 1806 md Leary
Bare (or Kitchen); Joshua b. ca 1795 md Mary "Polly" Johnson; Thomas b.
ca
1799 md Nancy (Mullins?); Ambrose b. ca 1802 md Marra "Matty" Mullins;
Booker Jr. b. ca 1810 md Martha Mullins; Solomon b. ca 1815 md Dorcas
Kelly.
I haven't placed any books in the libraries yet.  I was waiting
until I
finished selling enough books to pay for the printing.  I would really
appreciate your advertising the book on your website.  If any of the
libraries order a copy, I will let you know.  I hope the Buchanan,
Dickenson, and Wise County libraries want copies---there are numerous
Mullins descendants in those areas.
    Best wishes.         cornelius@kymail.com

Jacquline,
Booker Mullins Sr.'s wife would be the Sarah mentioned in the death
record of Isham Mullins.  There is confusion between the different men
named
Booker Mullins at times.  The name Nancy apparently comes from a
mistake in
the death record of one of Booker Mullins neices.
    Best wishes.        cornelius@kymail.com
