In Memory of Shrewy

Upon this day with sadness and regret,

The loss of my beloved ‘child’ who was my pet.

We still think of you even though you're not here.

We will miss you, miss you, my dear.

You are a star that brightened up our lives

From the moment you were born to the moment you died.

Now you are up in the sky with all the twinkling stars.

We will remember when you climbed up the bars

Or when you ran around in your little green ball.  You were so tame.

You ran to us when we called your name.

We will never forget.  You were so clever.

We will always love you, love you, forever.

When you popped open the plastic on your cage with your nose

Or when you used to clean your face with your little pink toes.

Now the angels are protecting you each and every day.

Oh, little one, I will miss you so much more than words can say.

Rest in peace, my Shrew.
