The picture above is of John French and Madora "Dora" Smith Stollings. Parents of Roy, Chess, Millard, Nora, Courtney, Belvia, Hattie ( died young), Clement (John), Newton,and Kenton. John French Stollings and wife were from the Ottawa section of Boone County.
John French and Dora Jane moved to Garrett's Fork of Big Creek in or around 1910. They bought the farm from H.C. & May Carpenter. John was a farmer, casket maker and carpenter.
John French was the son of Granville & Elizabeth Chambers Stollings and Dora was the daughter of John & Arrisba Bias Smith.John's grandmother Julia Chambers (age 95) was living with him in 1900 in Washington District. John's mother Elizabeth was living with her daughter Minerva & son-in-law Joseph Smith in 1900. Joseph was Dora's brother and Minerva was John's sister.
All of the children of John & Dora are deceased.
