JACOB BARKER came from Buckingham County Va prior to 1800. He may have been married at least three times. For purpose of this page I am only going to deal with those members of his family which belonged to 2nd wife Frances Susan Garner/Garnes/Carnes/Kerns. As you can see research done after my BARKER FAMILY OF SOUTHERN WV has added new questions and issues which need to be settled by someone in the future. I will deal with these children. Joseph Barker and Anderson Barker Sr.His other children lived in Boone and Mercer Counties of WV. 1. Dicy Barker m. Jacob Haner no issue 2. Nancy Barker m. Andrew Hager no known issue but possible son. 3. Joseph Barker 1792-1858. Joseph married Jane/Jincy Bowles daughter of Elisha and Elizabeth Bowles of Bedford Co. Va. They settled on Garretts Fork about 1830/33. Children were: John Anthony Barker who moved to Boone County, William Lee Barker who married Dorcas Workman and lived on Garretts Fork, Mary Elizabeth Barker who married Noah Haner and lived on Garretts Fork, Anderson Barker who married Martha Ferrell and Benjamin Barker who married Adeline Fry. 4. Susan Barker m. Fredrick Haner. See Fredrick Haner for details of her children. 5. William Allen Barker of Mercer County 6. Anderson Barker 1801-1885 married Letticia Godby dau of William Godby. See Godby Family for their children. He came to this area by 1824 or before.
