Canon in D MajorBy Pachelbel. A wonderful, repetitive melody... . This CD was my savior when anxiety was taking me over. The CD I owned had just the one song on it... 45 minutes, over and over and over again. Set of headphones... it helped me keep myself grounded. HIGHLY recommended !! New World SymphonyBy Dvorak, Anton. Subtle, repetitive threads of melody which connect among the different movements. Based on Dvorak's impressions of life on the North American continent 100 years ago; themes include big cities, vast, open spaces, native american musical contributions. Greatest HitsBy Sting. Quite a tuneful guy, but then that should come as no suprise to fans of pop music. There's a certain hopefulness in his melodies, and his lyricsare mostly in line with melodies. Recommended by TomJ/SLE/1978/Illinois , 11/27/2000.

Ninth SymphonyBy Beethoven. You can't dance to old Ludwig's music, but the listening is great. And you can identify its underlying theme almost as soon as it starts. The last movement, Ode to Joy, is the one most people can identify; you'll hear it again and again as we go into the Holiday Season. Recommended by TomJ/SLE/1978/Illinois , 11/27/2000.

One Guitar, No VocalsBy Leo Kottke. As the title says, there are no vocals, so there are no words to remember. Just hum along with the tunes. Leo is my favorite musician (has been for the past thirty years and will be for the next 50 years, at least). His style is not country, not rock, not classical, not jazz . . . just Leo! Go visit http://www.guitarmusic.org/ and learn more about him and hear some of his music. Recommended by Ingrid , 1/8/2001.

Beatles A-ZBy The Beatles. I first heard the Beatles during the summer of 1963 when I was 13 years old and visiting relatives in Sweden. They are the group I love. About 15 years ago I recorded all of the Beatles' songs in alphabetical order (got the idea from WNEW-FM who played the Beatles' alphabetically every year on the anniversary date of their first concert in the U.S.). When I got out of the hospital and couldn't remember anything, The Beatles helped me. I played my tapes over and over and over (all six 90-minute tapes) and re-learned the words. What a great feeling! They certainly did help me. Recommended by Ingrid , 1/8/2001.

Let There Be Peace On EarthBy Methodist Hymnal. This is what we need and it begins with us and then to the friends wherever we go reaching out peace to everyone outside our home. We should be nice to people and wave and say hello when we pass others on the sidewalk or road. happymax Recommended by happymax , 9/21/2001.

WonderBy Natalie Merchant. I went into a coma on December 13, 1995 and diagnosed with Herpes Encephalitis. When I was in the hospital, over Christmas, my aunt "coincidentally" gave me Natalie Merchant's cd and the song "Wonder" came on and the first line is "Doctors have come from distant cities, just to see me. Stand over my bed disbelieving what they're seeing." I cried the first time I heard the song and it still tears me up when I hear it. But it became my "theme song" and will always be. I recommend it to all of you! I hope you enjoy it! Jen, Encephalitis Survivor Recommended by Jenn , 2/6/2003.
