Our Mission

To provide the most cost-effective means of inserting new technology into fielded Department of Defense (DOD) weapon systems and provide the soldier with the latest technology, increased readiness, deadly firepower, and survivability via modification work orders.  MWO's, (upgrade kits)  are applied to various U.S. Army weapon systems throughout the ROK and Japan, although the main hub is located in "The "NEW" Fish Bowl" at Camp Humphreys.

Scope of Work Project OLR (MWOs): To apply modification work orders, Depot repairs, Crash Damage repair and incidental maintenance as required on U.S. Army aircraft and other DOD weapon systems within the Korea "Project OLR" geographical area. This includes all Korea, Japan and other Asian Pacific areas as determined by the Aviation Maintenance and Missile Command (AMCOM). This coverage includes the flexibility and ability to utilize contractor personnel as applicable to satisfy particular needs (mission requirements/priorities) as dictated by this command.

Organization Profile

  • Government managed, Contractor operated team of industry specialists dedicated to providing system maintenance, modification, and damage recovery within the Republic of Korea.

  • Division of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC) and Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM).

  • Endorsed by the U.S. Joint Logistics Chiefs (JLC) as the primary contractual vehicle for securing depot-level systems maintenance and modification within the DOD.

  • Operating Contractor is DynCorp International, based in Ft. Worth, Texas.

  • DynCorp OLR POC's are; Bob Murphy responsible for all OLR Operations, ACE, APS-4 War Stockage Program, and Support Provided to the Patriot Missile Program Supporting Korea, Japan and the Pacific Region as required.

  • Bill Fitzgerald, Crew Leader, responsible for all OLR operations at Camp Humphreys and Roving teams throughout Korea and APS-4.

602nd "Y" Shop

(Formally CHARF and ALMD)

602nd Y Shop performs a variety of component and ground support related repair services including engineering approved depot services, saving the U.S. Army untold millions. With of work force of 30 personnel under the guidance of Sok Yun  (LM) and Dave Swanson (CL2), personnel at the Y Shop are the component Kings. The Y Shop also has the flexibility to go on site at remote locations as the need arises and mission dictates. Be it engines, M/R Blades, Aircraft hydraulic components, welding, ground support equiptment, and anything else the Army can throw at them, Y Shop is on it!

602nd Y Shop also manages the NMP (National Maintenance Program), performing depot level overhaul's on approved components.


602ND AVIATION SUPPORT BATTALION

DynCorp's 602ND's Support team provides a wide variety of component repair , NDI requirements, the engine test cell, and many other aircraft support requirements throughout the Republic of Korea. The present DynCorp Crewlead is Dave Wolfe with a 14 man DynCorp support team.

DynCorp Team's 7R & 8Q

Dyncorp teams 7R and 8Q provides 3/2 General Support Aviation Battalion with First rate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, component replacement, Airframe repair, flightline operations, logistics and ULLS-A support. Dyncorp's Crew Leaders at those sites are Larry White (CL2), Kenny Huffstetler (CL1) (Dco. UH60 Maint.) and Warren Wilson (Bco. CH47 Maint.), with 32 DynCorp employees working those units and two additional employees working NAV AIDS for the CAB.
