Although interests were few, many with ASD, AS or HFA had such a thirsty mind for details that many professions or talents were buried in ruin due to social pressures, especially in sciences.  Some of that knowledge was presented in over-stated detail;  others were so meticulous that most projects were left unfinished due to self-critical perfection.  Those with great accomplishments either couldn't understand why people made such a fuss over their 'humble' works, or went to the other extreme of emotional arrogance.  History reveals those with ASD who were in "well-to-do" familys or who had "old money" usually were the only survirors who had the necessary resources to deal with life and the world around them.

What makes HFA, ASD, or AS different from other autism cases are the few high IQ test scores that range in the above-average to gifted ranges, especially in spatial skills (incl. art), math, and even language (including music and math as languages).  Just think of how our world would be without Da Vinci's scientific revelations and art, Thomas Jefferson's 'Declaration of Independence, or Einstein's Theory of Relativity.
Be Proud!

Here are some featured people in history
who show ASD spectrum traits:

Others with disabilities include:
  • George Washington  was unable to spell throughout his life and his grammar usage was very poor.   His brother suggested that perhaps surveying in the backwoods might be an appropriate career for young George.
  • Werner Von Braum  regularly failed his high school math examinations but was often caught day-dreaming due to his ADD of one day flying to other planets.
  • Harry Anderson (who played Judge Stone on "Night Court" TV series)  and Robin Williams, comedian, were both ADD (a trait on the autism spectrum).
  • Woodrow Wilson, US President,  and Nelson Rockerfeller, US Vice President, were both dyslexic.

Take pride of your Differences!
Here are some other names that show spectrum traits --
