This is a listing of the events we've participated in during 2005:

February 12 - Black Gold Casino at Zia Park in Hobbs NM - 6 Miatas drove a short 90 miles for a lunch buffet at the new Black Gold Casino followed by individual slot machine gambling.  No "big" winners fessed up.

February 15 - Zoomer Tuesday dinner to Fuddrucker's in Midland - 19 folks chatted over hamburgers.

March 14 - Zoomer Tuesday dinner to Mona's Place in Midland - ten of us enjoyed steakfingers (as good as Buddy's)

March 19 - our first tech-day of the year at Mazda of Midland.  14 Miatas participated and the dealership provided pizza and complimentary inspections.

APRIL 19 – Zoomer Tuesday dinner to Cotton Patch Cafe - 16 Miataphiles and conversation

MAY 8 - Mayhem in Monahans picnic run to the Sandhills State Park.  Seven Miatas drove a short 45 miles for a meal in the sand.  Ruth Price brought carrot cake, Beckie Pickering brought a banana nut cake with pineapple sauce topping, and Ginger Florence brought fresh fruit with poppyseed dressing.....nice treat for Mother's Day.

MAY 17 – Zoomer Tuesday dinner to Michael's Charcoal Grill in Midland.  Chuck Carson (our newest club member from Abilene) drove out to meet with us for dinner.  Ken Herbert showed off his new Honda S2000 (thank goodness he KEPT the Blazing Yellow SE for his new bride, Carolyn.)

JUNE 7 –  Zoomer Tuesday dinner at Dos Compadres in Midland. 14 of us enjoyed dinner around the table and then a short drive around Midland College to Baskin-Robbins for more conversation and ice cream.

JUNE 17-19 - Run to Ruidoso 2005.  Led by Bob Price, a drive to White Sands and weekend driving in the Ruidoso/Cloudcroft area.  Eight Miatas participated from Tumbleweed and the Armadillo Miata Club.  Pictures are loaded on the Pictures page.

JULY 9 - Dell-Winston Solar Car Challenge in Big Spring.  The Dell-Winston solar car challenge came through Big Spring. High school drivers/engineers racing from Round Rock TX to the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena CA. Details at http://winstonsolar.org/

JULY 17 - Looking for Tumbleweeds - our first attempt at a timed road rally was an AWESOME success thanks to Bob Price.  Eleven Miatas enjoyed the roads and streets of Midland and Odessa with dinner at La Margarita in Odessa.  Mark & Vickie McLean came in first place, and Wayne Bartlett shared the "Gold Baby Teeth Award" with Syd Lawler.  Other awards included: chrome top-latch bolts, chrome door handles, boot storage bag, and a Miata bristleboard dart game.

JULY 19Zoomer Tuesday Dinner Run to Greg's Grill at the Big Spring Mall.  Eight Miatas enjoyed gigantic steakfingers among other fare.  The drive back to Midland/Odessa was wonderful for top-down driving with a full Moon as a backdrop.

AUGUST 13 - Sky-Vue Drive In trip to Lamesa was scheduled, due to thunderstorms - we decided to go eat at Luby's Cafeteria.

AUGUST 27 - annual "Bar-Miata-Q" at Rick Ganem's house.  A lively crowd of about 20 ate grilled burgers and dogs and enjoyed the swimming pool.

SEPTEMBER 2-3-4 - Seven Miatas enjoyed a fabulous weekend in Alpine for the balloon festival.  We dodged rain showers for a refreshing "cooler" weekend.  The Shriners hosted us for a terrific steak cookout.

SEPTEMBER 20 - A "lively" group of about 15 met for our monthly Zoomer Dinner at Cattleman's Steakhouse in Midland.  We saw several new faces and had the opportunity to test Rebecca Nicholson's new 2006 MX-5 Miata.

 OCTOBER 18 – "Zoomer Tuesday" dinner to the HOG PIT Pub and Grub (between Midland and the airport on Business 20/Hwy 80) - twelve of us enjoyed the best ribs and brisket we've eaten.

OCTOBER 22 – Saturday, annual trek to "LAP UP LUBBOCK" - led by Michael and Debbie Grossie. We had EIGHT Miatas enjoy a full day of activities: Llano Estacado winery, Science Spectrum - OmniMax Theatre, Air Power Museum, Hub City Brewery for dinner.

OCTOBER 29 - Five of us drove down to Imperial (75 miles) to witness the annual Shrimp Harvest followed by an excellent shrimp lunch at the Permian Sea Restaurant. 

NOVEMBER 15 - Zoomer Tuesday dinner at Dos Compadres in Midland.

DECEMBER 3 - annual downtown Midland Christmas parade

DECEMBER 17 - annual Christmas Lights "DINE-n-DRIVE" - hosted by Mark & Vickie McLean in Big Spring. 14 Miatas participated in a drive of the State Park lights and then an after-glo party hosted by Wayne Bartlett with hot chocolate and wassail.
