Greetings and Welcome to the Maryland AR15 Shooters Site!

This site has been set up for three basic reasons:

  1. To act as a storage location for all kinds of AR-15 information (Technical, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), Tips, accessories/optics, different brandshow to sight in the rifle, and such).
  2. To help people who are interested in becoming an AR owner/shooter or are new to AR-15s.
  3. To aid those of us stuck in Maryland (and to some degree the surrounding states) to find places to buy AR-15s and related equipment, places they can shoot their AR-15, and a calendar of events they might want to participate in (classes, competitions, and gun shows).

So while being regionally oriented, there is something here for all AR-15 enthusiasts.  This site is also unique in that many of the documents are also available in a downloadable format for Palm compatible PDAs.  Several of them are also in .RTF format suitable for downloading into Windows CE PDAs.  In what little spare time I have, I am working on a Palm compatible ballistics program which should be a real hoot(Before I could finish another person has created one - check it out in the Documents section).  Till then I have MagTracker (tm) a Palm utility to database your AR (and other firearm) magazines and to track Magazine related failures (to weed out the bad magazines); and a Army Schedule 'C' Qualification Coarse scoring program.  If you have items (files, articles, whatever) to contribute, then please do so!  This site works best when all of us share our information.  I do try to put out a monthly 'Newletter' that tells of the updates to the site and I try to list all the events being held in the next month.  This newsletter goes out to the site members around the last week of the month; you may remove yourself from the mailing list by adjusting your member profile if this is of no interest to you.

All areas are open for reading, and you may download all you wish (Note: MSN now requires you to become a member to download, membership are approved by the managers). Posting files, photos, or in the discussion forum requires you to register as a site member (free to all). Our policy on uploads/postings is they must be related to AR-15s, Firearms, Gun Culture, RKBA, or 2nd Amendment issues. Since this is a site open to ALL, I ask that no ‘girly’ photos/links be posted (even if they are holding an AR-15). The Managers reserve the right to remove any item that does not fit our site parameters.

The information on this site is not the work of any one person. Many have contributed either directly (by submitting articles to the site) or indirectly by producing manuals or posting to AR15-L or Forums.AR15.Com (I did a lot of ‘Data Mining’ to find the good stuff). The information is accurate to the best of our ability to check it out. If you find something you believe to be incorrect please bring it to our attention so we may check it out.

This is a non revenue generating hobbyist site – that means we get no reimbursement for running this site; either from selling items, advertising items, or the banner advertisements. This site is maintained for fun and to spread information about these great Sport Utility Rifles (SUR)! [Note: I did not invent the term, but I do use it as it is the best description for these kind of rifles]

If you plan on downloading (especially files for your PDA, or the Targets ) I suggest reading the Downloading Directions and Description to understand what you need to do and what files are available.

By checking the "New Stuff!" column you can see what the Managers have done to the site since your last visit. The column name is dated to show you the last time the site was updated. Note that this does not include updated in the Discussion Zone or additions to the Links, Product Reviews, Photo Album, Downloads, or Good Deals that site members have added.

We have a Good Deals section where our Vendor Members (or anyone else) may post about a product they saw that looked like a ‘Good Deal’ (good price to benefit). This site makes no warrenties about the capabilities or usefulness of any product for a particular task. The Trading Post is a place where the members (non vendor) can post items for sale or trade (ALL Federal, State, and Local laws apply!)! - We assume no responsibility for any transaction "Buyer Beware").  We also have Product Review section where members can post about products they have used and/or purchased. These reviews should have a product description as well as the personal opinions, of the member, about the product. Also, our How-To Projects sections shows what other have been able to do, and how they did it. Since your skills, choice of tools & materials, and other factors are beyond our control we make no guarantees about the suitability of a particular project for your use. (In other words don’t blame us if you try a project out and screw something up – it is not our fault)

Sorry for all the Legalese, but in these litigious times I thought it prudent. Have fun and enjoy the site!
