Thoughts on Voluntary Simplicity
|
Thoughts on Voluntary Simplicity Welcome to Clay and Judy Woods' homepage.
Many simplicity gurus urge us to become "tightwads" as the true path to a simple life. But voluntary simplicity and frugality are not really the same thing. To be sure, frugality is a vehicle for achieving simplicity, but the driving force is a vision, a philosophy, a world view. If life were a poem, simplicity would be the poet, frugality the line and meter. If life were a painting, simplicity would be the artist, frugality the paint and brushes. If life were a building, simplicity would be the architect, frugality the hammer and boards. Voluntary simplicity is about freedom. Its about owning your own life. Frugality is living with less of what money can buy. Voluntary simplicity is wanting less. Copyright 1997-

The Celestine Vision
|
From the author of the best-selling books, such as "The CelestineProphecy", The Tenth Insight" and "The Celestine Vision"...this is the author's direct link to his philosophy. | Our belief is that there is a growing worldwide interest in spirituality that is creating a new spiritual awareness and culture that will flourish in the new millennium. We realize that not one person has the ultimate perspective and so this CelestineVision.com website is dedicated to an ongoing spiritual discussion and the dissemination of ideas throughout the world. Out of this worldwide consensus building, human society will continue to evolve ever-greater truths that will further spark our spiritual awakening. Ultimately we will realize that we are spiritual beings living in a spiritual world - a world that is precisely designed for the discovery and implementation of our most inspired dreams. Each of us must discover our personal mission and the synchronistic process that can guide us forward. Uplift everyone who crosses your path and trust your synchronicity ... |

Quest For The Lost Civilisation
|
GRAHAM HANCOCK is the author of the major international bestsellers The Sign and The Seal, Fingerprints of the Gods and Heaven's Mirror. His books have sold more than five million copies worldwide and have been translated into 27 languages. His public lectures and TV appearances, including the three-hour series Quest For The Lost Civilisation, have put his ideas before audiences of tens of millions. He has become recognised as an unconventional thinker who raises legitimate questions about humanity's history and prehistory and offers an increasingly popular challenge to the entrenched views of orthodox scholars. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Hancock's early years were spent in India, where his father worked as a surgeon. Later he went to school and university in the northern English city of Durham and graduated from Durham University in 1973 with First Class Honours in Sociology. He went on to pursue a career in quality journalism, writing for many of Britain's leading newspapers including The Times, The Sunday Times, The Independent, and The Guardian. He was co-editor of New Internationalist magazine from 1976-1979 and East Africa correspondent of The Economist from 1981-1983. In the early 1980's Hancock's writing began to move consistently in the direction of books. His first book (Journey Through Pakistan, with photographers Mohamed Amin and Duncan Willetts) was published in 1981. It was followed by Under Ethiopian Skies (1983), Ethiopia: The Challenge of Hunger (1984), and AIDS: The Deadly Epidemic (1986). In 1987 Hancock began work on his widely-acclaimed critique of foreign aid, Lords of Poverty, which was published in 1989. African Ark (with photographers Angela Fisher and Carol Beckwith) was published in 1990. Hancock's breakthrough to bestseller status came in 1992 with the publication of The Sign and The Seal, his epic investigation into the mystique and whereabouts today of the lost Ark of the Covenant. 'Hancock has invented a new genre,' commented The Guardian, 'an intellectual whodunit by a do-it-yourself sleuth.' Fingerprints of the Gods, published in 1995 confirmed Hancock's growing reputation. Described as 'one of the intellectual landmarks of the decade' by the Literary Review, this book has now sold more than three million copies and continues to be in demand all around the world. Subsequent works such as Keeper Of Genesis (The Message of the Sphinx in the US) with co-author Robert Bauval, and Heaven's Mirror, with photographer Santha Faiia, have also been Number 1 bestsellers, the latter accompanied by Hancock's three-part television series Quest For the Lost Civilisation. Most recently, in 2002 Hancock published Underworld: Flooded Kingdoms of the Ice Age to great critical acclaim, and hosted the accompanying major TV series. This was the culmination of years of research and on-hand dives at ancient underwater ruins. Arguing that many of the clues to the origin of civilization lay underwater, on coastal regions once above water but flooded at the end of the last Ice age, Underworld offered tangible archaeological evidence that myths and legends of ancient floods were not to be dismissed out of hand. Graham's next venture Talisman - The Sacred Cities and The Secret Faith, co-authored by Robert Bauval, is to be released in May 2004. This work, a decade in preparation, returns to the themes last dealt with in Keeper Of Genesis, seeking further evidence for the continuation of a secret astronomical cult into modern times. It is a roller-coaster intellectual journey through the back streets and rat runs of history to uncover the traces in architecture and monuments of a secret religion that has shaped the world.

Welcome to our celebration of Love, Peace, Freedom, Harmony and Happiness
|
Welcome to our celebration of Love, Peace, Freedom, Harmony and Happiness Here we look at the philosophy, the spiritual aspects, and also discuss how to bring it all together into a way of life... | | | Remember "make love, not war"? There's a new call for the hippies of the 21st Century! We still believe in the philosophy, but did we get it right in the 60's? The very survival of mankind could well depend upon the degree to which the philosophy is adopted. And our aims? To change the world, of course! | |

Imagine someone gave you a mission. You were to go to a strange country to fulfill that mission. Themission was very clear to you at the time and yet you knew that when you arrived in that strange country, you would forget your mission consciously. Everyone in that country seemed to be having this huge party and there were always invitations to join the party. So you attended the parties and at first it really was a lot of fun. Except when they grew tired of your company, they would throw you out on the street. They only cared for what you brought to their party. When you had nothing to bring, you were no longer welcome. So there you were, flat broke, out of love, out of friends and you asked yourself, "Isn't there something more than this?" Finally, with the sincerity of your request, the memory of your original mission started to surface. You found out you weren't really alone. So many others had very similar but forgotten missions. But a few of them actually remembered. You read their books. You listened to their stories. And after a while you also remembered.
This website is an expression of the mission which I almost forgot.

The Hunger Site
|
An estimated one billion of the worlds people face relentless poverty and chronic hunger. 24,000 will die today. 75% are children. When you click on the "Give Free Food" button on the home page of The Hunger Site, funding is generated for the purchase and distribution of staple food to those in need. Funds are paid by site sponsors. In 2001, over 1 million pounds of food were made possible by people like you, who simply took a moment to click a button each day. * Monday's click could provide lunch to a schoolgirl in Indonesia. * On Tuesday, your click may help feed the family of a struggling Honduran farmer. * Click on Wednesday, and help a US senior citizen forced to choose between medicine and food. * Thursday's click may touch the life of a malnourished Afghan child living on grass and tea. * Your click on Friday may give a pregnant woman in drought-plagued Eritrea crucial nutrition. Please become part of the Circle of Hope by making The Hunger Site part of your daily routine and telling friends and family about this easy way to make a difference. The number of people clicking on the "Give Free Food" button directly determines the amount of food that goes to the hungry. Thanks for your help! http://www.thehungersite.com/home
