Destiny is now battling an infection in her blood. She has an intervenous in her juglar, on the right side, just below her cheek. Her little hands are still restrained. She is still being tube fed and is on the respirator. The tubes in her little nose look so big. Her main problems seem to be a gag reflex... and drooling from the mouth... as the nurse told me. I asked the nurse, " don't you think you'd be in that condition if you had those tubes in and out of your nose almost daily for two and a half months"? She just looked at me. As for a prognosis, doctor believes Destiny is the only one who can decide what happens. The hospital is doing all they can for her, and she is doing well for the stage she is in. Rosa siad she it trying to lift her head and do "baby things", when she isn't sedated. The reason for the sedation is that if she cries or gets upset for any reason it makes her heart beat faster and her lungs have to work harder, and so instead of a hain reaction of events going on, they believe this is easier. But I did see her gag and her poor little face turned beet red. That's about it for now. I'll keep you posted!
