The Culture Clash

By Jean Donaldson.
A must read for anyone who wants to understand how a dog thinks and views the world.  Understand that, and you will find training much easier as the lines of communication open up.

The Dog Listener

By Jan Fennell.
This book is totally awesome. A must read for any dog owner. Jan talks about her life with dogs and how she uses a similar technique to the horse wisperer to train her dogs. She studied wolves and learned how they communicate and than began to translate how to use it herself. She has fixes to a variety of problems including separation anxiety, aggression, dogs jumping up at you when you come in, etc. and can tell you WHY your dog is doing them. The book also comes with a 30 day training guide which I have started myself. I live by this book and let me tell you it has done MIRACLES for my dogs. They no longer pull on the lead, they dont mess when I leave, and they dont jump all over me when I come home.

GO BUY IT!

The Nature of Animal Healing

By Dr. Martin Goldstein.
This book explains how to keep your dog healthy naturally without using unnecessary chemicals to prevent disease such as cancer, skin problems, etc.  He also discusses nutrition and vaccine protocol.

Dr. Martin Goldstein is a holistic veterinarian.

This book cost me $16 at a local bookstore and it has been a consistent reference in my goal to keep my Boxers as healthy as possible, it's well worth the money.
