Email Problems - Tutorial If you are receiving email from this, or any other group, there are ways you can put a stop to it. Here is a 7-step tutorial on how you can fix these problems. You will need to adjust your E-Mail Settings | (1) Go to Member Tools. | | | (2) Click on Check Your Email Settings | | | (3) Your first setting you can adjust is your e-mail address visibility. You should make sure that no one can see your email address. If everyone can access your address, you may find you will get unsolicited emails from people you don't know. Only give out your email address to people you actually want to get email from!
| | | (4) VERY IMPORTANT! Make sure you select "On the Web" as how you want to read messages. You will notice, the group in this example gets an average of 1,858 messages per day! You don't want that clogging up your email inbox. So make sure that you NEVER EVER select the "Inbox" feature. It is NOT a "Cool Feature! If you have joined a goup and have your email set to Inbox, only you can adjust your settings. Managers cannot fix this for you - so make sure you read this tutorial carefully and adjust your settings accordingly.
| | | (5) All Groups send out reports - either Daily or Weekly. You can also opt to Never get a report. (6) In the Message Delivery by Discussion section, click Stop Sending to the right of a discussion name. To stop receiving e-mail for all discussions in the list, click Stop sending for all discussions. (If you selected Inbox as your preferred method for message delivery, you will not see this section on the E-mail Settings page.) (7) Be sure to click Save Changes! | | ©2002 Mitzi.
