Hello. Welcome to my Salmson 2A2 web site. A Salmson 2A2 is a 1918 biplane used in World War One for observation, artilery spotting and aerial photography. This site is dedicated to Lt. Francis Lowry, who served as an observer in a Salmson 2A2. The Lowry AFB in Denver Colorado USA was named for him. The Wings Over The Rockies Air and Space Museum was created on the former location of Lowry AFB. I scratch built a 1:16 scale model Salmson 2A2, shown above, for the museum. This site is intended for people who: - Like to learn about airplanes in general, or
- Like to learn about World War One, or
- Want to learn about the Salmson 2A2, or
- Want to build a scale model of a Salmson 2A2, or
- Want to see how I built my model of a Salmson 2A2, or
- All of the above, or
- None of the above. I got here by accident, but since I'm here, what the heck I may as well check it out.
CONTENTS: Photos, drawings and reference material for this little known World War One biplane AND step-by-step photos of how I built a scale model of it. MORE REFERENCE MATERIAL SEE My Salmson ref mtl photobucket: http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn124/TheGreatLandoni/Salmson%202A2/
