THE TEN COMMANDMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL COMMUNICATION

 

 

1.            Listen much, speak little and don’t become angry

              Proverbs 18:13     James 1:19   Proverbs 10:19-20

 

2.         Don’t be hasty (quick) in your words

            Proverbs 15:23,28  Proverbs 29:20

 

  1.    Guard the words you do speak (watch what you say)

             Ephesians 4:29-30   Proverbs 21:23

 

  1.    Speak the truth in love always and in all ways

             Ephesians 4:15  Colossians 3:9-19  Revelation 21:8

 

  1.    Don’t respond with carnal anger – Christians should respond as a thermostat (device that sets off a   sprinkler or value at a certain heat) – not as a thermometer (which measures temperatures)

6.      Admit that you’re wrong when necessary – The five magic words are  I’M SORRY I WAS WRONG

         James 5:16

 

7.     Practice forgiveness—You may not forget, but you can forgive and never bring the matter up    again to that person.

8.  Don’t nag – Don’t look on the outer appearance to the point of nagging.
