Wright, Captain Donald Thomas--born in Oil City, PA., January 6, 1894, son of Thomas J. Wright of Lockport, N. Y., and May (Williams) Wright of Rynd Farm, PA.  Married Pearl Burks of Arkansas. No children.  Member of the National Association of Masters, Mates and Pilots, Harbor 25 of Pittsburgh and Crescent City Harbor, New Orleans; Pilots, Masters and Mates Association of Inland Waters of St. Louis.   His hobbies: rivers, river craft and river travel.  Pilot license--dated June 4, 1927 for the Monongahela and Ohio Rivers from Lock 1, Monongahela to Moundsville, West Virginia.  Extended to Oil City, Pennsylvania on September 17, 1928.  
 
Wright, Francis E.--born in Buffalo, West Virginia on April 30, 1898.  He was the son of Captain Thomas C. Wright of Gallipolis, Ohio-and Mary (Erwin) Wright of Middleport, Ohio.  He married Madelene Holstein.  Two children were born to them.  Francis was a Mason, but his occupation was that of a master of the Steamer Eugene Dana Smith.
 
Wright, Harold Brownwell--born in Buffalo, West Virginia on August 2, 1894.  He was the son of the late Captain Thomas Clayborne Wright of Gallipolis, Ohio and Mary (Erwin) Wright of Middleport, Ohio.  Harold married Maurie Allen.  To this union, two children were born.  His occupation was a lockmaster. 
 
Wright, Admiral W.--born in Grantsburg, Indiana on September 8, 1868.  Admiral was the son of George W. and Mary (Miller) Wright, both native of Leavenworth, Indiana.  Admiral married, but had no children.  His occupation was that of a master, pilot and bridge supervisor.
 
Wright, James C.--born in Kanawha County, West Virginia on January 5, 1854.  James was the son of William Penn Wright of Virginia (born in 1818) and Almira (Anderson) Wright, also of Virginia.  James married Lizzie Hanley and to this union one child was born.  James was a member of the Master and Pilot Association.  His occupation was a pilot.
Wright, Captain William McKinley--born in Winfield, West Virginia on June 1, 1896.  William was the son of James S. Wright of Scary, West Virginia and Sarah Jane (Supples) Wright of St. Albans, West Virginia.  William later married to Anna Marie Manion.  To this union one child was born.  He was a member of the National Association of Master, Mates and Pilots, Harbor 26.  His occupation was that of a master and pilot. 
 
Just Tidbits of Information
 
"The Elk"
 
The Elk entered the Kanawha River trade, and in 1840 she and the Hope were chartered to make an excursion to Pomery, Ohio; at which place General William H. Harrison was to make a speech.  The two boats were lashed together and carried a large house, built of Buckeye logs, representing Ohio--the Buckeye State.  Mr. Laidley sold her eventually to Clayburn A. Wright and John Dickenson, who continued to run her until she was condemned.
