Queen Amidala In Episode 2

As you will see, this page has info on more than just Amidala in Episode II. But it is Amidala and the pictures are mostly of her.

ATTACK OF THE CLONES
starwars.com is pleased to announce that Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones is the full title for the next Star Wars film, scheduled for release in 2002.

A new headpiece that will appear in "Attack of the Clones"

Here is an even newer outfit from Episode II!

This is a newoutfit from Episode II, it reminds me of the Pre-Senate Gown in colour and fabric.

Handmaidens for Episode II
Rose and Veronica
Corde, Verse, or Dorme?
It has been confirmed by www.theforcenet.com that Veronica will be playing the decoy Corde and Rose will be playing either Dorme or Verse.

According to unofficial reports, the opening scenes of Episode II will feature the attempted assasination of Queen Amidala. The Queen has a new head of security, Captain Typho (played by Jay Laga'aia), and a  young handmaiden, Cordé, who is acting as the Queen's decoy, is killed. Senator Padmé Amidala cradles the dying girl in her arms...and in the Senate Chamber on Coruscant, the death of Queen Amidala of Naboo is announced...?

If this is true, it sounds like a good explanation as to why Amidala spends much of Episode II as Padmé, and why there is a new Queen of Naboo (see below)...it may be that to defeat her enemies, and for her own personal safety, as well as the good of her people, Padmé Amidala believes (or is advised) that the best thing to do is to let those who would harm her think that she is already dead...

It is rumored that this (ABOVE) is one of three designs being considered for the Episode II Official Poster!

This could be one of the sets in South America. Personally, it looks like an Ewok village to me!

Isn't she captivating?

!?!?A New Queen?!?!

According to unofficial reports, the 'regal leader' played by Ayesha Dharker will be called Queen
Jamilla
and she will be......Queen of  Naboo...! The evidence for the latter...George Lucas mentioned that she is an elected leader (we know that Naboo elects its royalty), there are claims that she wears the distinctive Naboo royal makeup (it depends how accurate this source is-she could merely be wearing similar makeup) and Natalie Portman is listed in the official cast as Padmé, the name Queen Amidala uses when she is an ordinary citizen.......intriguing! We'll just have to wait and see...

Look closely, in all these pictures, Amidala wears none of the ceremonialy makeup.

Who are the new members of the cast? - Fact: Confirmed new cast for SW2 are:
Hayden Christensen (He is CANADIAN!) as Anakin Skywalker
Natalia Portman as Padme Naberrie
Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa
Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars
 Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars
Christopher Lee as a charismatic separatist; Count Dooku
Jay Laga'aia a Captian Typho (See above on Amidala's assasination)
Leeanna Walsman as a skilled bounty hunter, Zam Wesell
Veronica Segura as Codre, the decoy handmaiden
Rose Byrne as handmaiden Dorme or Verse
David Bowers as a high ranking Senate official
Matthew Rowan as an indulgent politician
Daniel Logan as a mysterious boy (Confirmed he is Boba Fett as a child)
Matt Doran as an unsavoury troublemaker, Elan Sleazebaggano
Alethea McGrath as a Jedi academic, Madame Jocasta Nu
Susie Porter as a waitress (A waitress???)
Trisha Noble as Jobal Naberrie, Padme's Mother
Graeme Blundell as Ruwee Naberrie, Padme's Father
Hayley Mooy as Pooja, Padme's niece
Keira Wingate as Ryoo, Padme's niece
Unknown as Sola, Padme's sister
Lara Cox (possibly) as Aurra Sing
Anthony Daniels as C-3PO
Kenny Rogers as R2-D2
Jack Thompson as Cliegg Lars, Tatooine Farmer/Business Man and Anakin's new stepfather!

Consider this...You know all the Episode II Selects that George Lucas has been sending back from filming locations, what if all those pics are just 'decoys'? What if the producers are playing a cruel joke? Maybe these pics are the only real pictures from the set? Something to think about!

This looks more like a handmaiden's robe than a queen's gown.

Another new picture from the Episode II set!

Will Qui-Gon reappear in spirit form? - Fact: Nobody quite knows yet. In the May 21st Entertainment Weekly, they asked Neeson this very question; he responded by saying: "I really can't say," Neeson demurs, "But I'm going to make sure my passport's up-to-date."

Will Darth Maul be in SW2? - Fact: No Maul in SW2, but there will be a major new bad guy.

Where is Padme? It certainly doesn't look like Naboo!

What has happened to Amidala?

Is there any chance this could be Amidala? (ABOVE)

I know this isn't Amidala, but isn't it cool?

BOBA FETT RETURNS
From the Star Wars Insider #39, Rick McCallum said, "He (Boba Fett) is definitely going to play a part in Episode 2. There's not much else I can tell you about Episode 2, since George will not sit down to start writing it until this summer."

From the Official Star Wars site, a quote from George Lucas: "As for the possibility of other classic characters appearing in the new trilogy, we had the chance to ask George Lucas recently about a certain very popular bounty hunter. "Boba Fett doesn't show up in Episode I," Lucas commented, "but he has a prominent role in Episode II." Anything else about Episode II he'd care to let us know while he's at it? Lucas smiles. "No."

From the Official Star Wars site, a quote from Steve Sansweet, "Forget everything you knew, or thought you knew about the origins of Boba Fett. While none of us have seen a script of Episode II or have an idea of the direction in which George Lucas is taking the character, it's fairly safe to say that he won't be held to any of the back stories that have arisen over the years to try to explain the roots of this strong, mostly silent type."

AURRA SING
Aurra Sing is a character that was put in at the last minute to The Phantom Menace. She is a bounty hunter that may figure more prominently in Episode II, but that is not confirmed by Lucasfilm yet. But it IS confirmed that she and Boba Fett are NOT one in the same.
