Sorry about that.  I'm not sure what year he would have graduated but I do know that he died several years ago in a car accident.  Chip and I were good friends in school even though he was younger than I.  His dad used to own a restaurant across the street from the High School gym.

I still have the newspaper clippings of the accident that happened on HWY 37, October 15,1972. Michael Lee Shriner, James (Jamie) Otis Shriner, Kenny (Bob) Robert Day, and Michael Lynn Henderson all died at the scene.  Mike and Bob were seniors, Jamie was a freshman, and Mike H. graduated in '69, was 21. Richard Shriner was the driver of the car that killed his brothers and Bob; he had just graduated the year before.    The previous May, on the 27th, Billy Jennings, Mike S. best friend was killed on his motorcycle at almost the same section of HWY 37.  Mike S. was my first love, and Jamie was my best friend.  Almost 30 years later, and my heart still hurts to look at the news articles, complete with pix of the boys and the car.

Mark was an exceptionally good person. I can't think of anything but pleasant memories of him. He played the trumpet and was very active in FFA. He was a good friend and died way too young.

Jamie died in a car accident on Highway 37 just north of Midway along with his brother Mike. Also killed in the crash was another Purdy alumni Mike Henderson

I believe this is mistaken information. It was Will Shriner and Bob Day who were in the car and died with Jamie. Also, Bill Branstetter was in the car, but survived. [Giz]     Meta's boys were Richard, Mike, and Jamie Shriner.  Bob Day was in the car.  The only surviver was Richard.  Their cousin Helen151

I think Cher was murdered in Colorado by her boyfriend's friend.  I knew Cher pretty good in fact she used to go cruising town with me and Joanna Hoffman.  It is a sad deal.  She was a nice person with a big imagination.
