Mr. Nations was born December 13, 1930, in Knox City, Texas, the son of Samuel and Roberta Joyce Nations. He was a 1949 graduate of Purdy High School and attended the University of Missouri. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He moved to Cassville from Monett in 1960. He operated State Farm Insurance Agency for 35 years. He was a member of the Cassville Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, and also a member of Irwin-Easley Post 118 Cassville American Legion. Buried with military honors in Stones Prairie Cemetery near Purdy.

Mark was an exceptionally good person. I can't think of anything but pleasant memories of him. He played the trumpet and was very active in FFA. He was a good friend and died way too young.
Jamie died in a car accident on Highway 37 just north of Midway along with his brother Mike. Also killed in the crash was another Purdy alumni Mike Henderson
I believe this is mistaken information. It was Will Shriner and Bob Day who were in the car and died with Jamie. Also, Bill Branstetter was in the car, but survived. [Giz] Meta's boys were Richard, Mike, and Jamie Shriner. Bob Day was in the car. The only surviver was Richard. Their cousin Helen151
Aaron Lynn Pennel passed away on February 24, 2002 at the age of 32 as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident between Butterfield and Wheaton, Missouri. He received his full education and graduated from Purdy in 1987. For twelve years he was a bull rider with the PRCA and he spent his last ten year as a steer wrestler. He was a member of the PRCA, MRCA and ACRA. He was also a self-employed welder. Aaron was a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed.
