First National Protest Day

FOR RELEASE ON APRIL 14, 2003

WHAT:   2nd Annual National Workers' Compensation Protest Day

WHEN:   April 28, 2003

WHERE:  Locations across this country will vary from city to city
and may include Workers' Compensation Offices, Employer sites,
Insurance Company sites, and Attorney Offices for the
Employer/State, and Legislative offices in all states.

WHO:    Injured workers, their families, and other supporters from all
walks of life in every state will publicly demonstrate their
dissatisfaction with the Workers' Compensation system within their
State, be it a State or Federal level program.   Any person who has
been treated unfairly or inadequately by Workers' Compensation is
invited to join us.

WHY:    To emphasize the need for timely and appropriate medical
care, rehabilitation, and financial benefits in order to help the injured
worker return to work or obtain disability benefits if necessary.

To stop the abuses, harassment, and lack of treatment and
benefits by the actions of employers, insurance companies,
attorneys, and inadequate systems in all states that are creating
permanently injured workers and destroying families emotionally and
financially.
