The attendances may not be on par with Soccer in England or Brazil, American Football (Gridiron) in the United States of America or Australian Rules in Australia. But taking in consideration that only just over 4 million people live in Papua New Guinea, and the fact transport is minimum, attendances in Papua New Guinea for Rugby League matches are outstanding. Capacity crowds of upto 15,000 for internationals and major domestic finals is a regular occurance in Papua New Guinea. Hundreds of thousands of fans are forced to watch outside the ground. Many fans have to treck miles through deadly jungles for days just to watch a match which lasts 80 minutes of entertainment. That just shows how commited sports fans are in the country of PNG.
