HERE ARE THE RULES FOR THE PMOM COMMUNITY
1. No profanity (in any language)
2. No personal attacks on any other listserv member (political figures, movie stars, serial killers or members of the IRS are fair game)
3. No blatant advertising (you can talk about your product if it meets the needs that someone has expressed on a message - but don't just shoot an advertisment out on the listserv. This privilege is reserved for the listserv owner.
4. No copying copyrighted material into a listserv message
5. No pictures of nudity (especially of Don) may be placed on the photo albums, regardless if you call it art or porno.
6. No using the listserv as a dating channel. If I'm not allowed to date (my wife won't let me) - neither are you.
7. Don't take anything anyone says on the listserv too personal. Remember - you can't see the gleam in their eye, the upturned mouth, the humor in their smile when they post it and sometimes someone will try to be funny (especially the listserv owner) and unfortunately - some emails do not portray that humor too well (especially the listserv owner)
8. Don't post personal phone numbers of former spouses, former presidents or former dates, without also posting accompanying photos (just kidding)
9. It is ok to post job openings if you're looking for someone for your office. Just don't get carried away
10. Don't post your resume on the listserv.
11. Never, ever attach an attachment file to an email message. This is grounds for immediate removal from the listserv. If you have a file - put it in the file cabinet area.
12. Use a virus scanning software such as McAfee or Norton and update it on your computer with the current data files at least twice a week. I have mine update at 2:30am every morning automatically because I'm usually off the computer by then.
13. If your email has a virus on it - that tells me you are not using a current and updated virus protection program - regardless of how you got it. That tells me, the listserv manager, that you are dangerous to others on the listserv and you will be removed from the community. Don't take a chance - get a virus protection program to protect yourself from the sicko's out there.
14. Do everyone a favor and set up a signature line so we can all see your name, address, phone, fax, email and website every time you post.
15. No - Ms Cleo is not allowed on this listserv. Have you ever wondered why there is never a newspaper headline saying "Psychic won lottery"?
16. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER send a "send one to me too" email to the listserv. If you want to send a personal message to the originator of the email, check their email for their address. This is a good reason to always include your own email on every message and this can be done in your profile.
17. If you have to leave your computer for awhile - DO NOT use an autoresponder that will send a message to the list saying you're gone for a week or so. You can tell your friends you'll be gone, but trust me when I say no one else cares. If you use an autoresponder, you will be removed from the listserv immediately.
18. Go to the profile page and set up your profile. You don't have to give out too much info - but you do have to have an email address listed on thereCheck mine - it has info so people can get hold of me if they need my help or want to hire my services - it helps.
Have fun - but please be respectfull of each other.
