Driver Profile

Dan started seriously racing Sprint Cars in 1995.

1995-96-Sponsored by KRM Services, gaining valuable experience as driver and car owner in Elma WA. and Skagit in Alger WA. Dan finished 34th at Skagit in 1996.

1997-98-Dan finished 24th in points at Skagit and finished 3rd in the 360 Dirt Cup at Cassidy B.C. 1997. With a new car in 98, Dan, finished 17th in points at Skagit.

1999-Sponsorship from Freddies Club, X-Stream Audio and Webbski.  Dan finished 5th in points in  Elma WA., won races at Cassidy Dirt Cup and a Skagit Speedway mainevent at 360 Thunder in the Valley.

2000-Dan competed regularly at the 3/10 mile Gray's Harbor Raceway Park and finshed 4th in Season Points Championship, he also competed at the new 3/8 mile Central State Fairgrounds Speedway in Yakima, WA. with the Northern Sprint Tour, the new 1/2 mile Portland Speedway in Portland, OR., and the 3/10 mile high banked Skagit Speedway in Alger, WA.

2001-With a backup car and engine, and with Freddie's Club on board for a 3rd year, Dan was ready to challenge for the Championship. Again, major engine problems, and some drivetrain malfunctions caused the team to slide backwards early, but against some very tough competition, ended up 10th in points for the season. Dan also was, on a bright note, able to make the A-Main with the World of Outlaws 3 straight nights, when they made their West Coast swing. This was with his 360 motor, running with the best in the world.

2002- This year saw Dan miss half the season due to being overseas on a work assignment. Even after all of this, Dan still finished 15th in the final points standings.

2003- This was the year of gremlins, but Dan still fiinished in the top 20 in points.

2004- Dan had a very good year without much in the way of sponsorship, and competed at all of the major shows in the NW, including Dirt Cup, 360 Show, NST Speedweek, Evergreen State Challenge and the World of Outlaws. Dan finished up the year 8th in points, and very satisfied with his season.

2005- Dan took the year off, sold everything and started over. Dan now has 2 2003 Rocket Chassis, and has purchased a Shark Racing ASCS 360 to show his determination at being competitive in the 2006 season.

Dan is looking forward to the 2006 season. We are looking for a championship at GHR.  Dan has the desire, experience and drive to accomplish this task, will give his sponsors high visibility and be a good ambassador for any business Dan has very high respect from his peers.

Age: 45 years old.  Home: Renton, WA.

In addition to this, Dan's 19 year old daughter Kari, would like to be driving a second car for Dunlap Racing, bringing a very firey attitude and the desire to succeed in a sport dominated by men. She has had some racing time in 2004 in her own car and has been racing indoor Go-Karts in preparation for the coming year if sponsorship money can be aquired to achieve this goal.
