OLDS/DIDSBURY FLYING ASSOCIATION
ODFA AIRCRAFT - RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Olds/Didsbury Flying Association (ODFA) Privileged Members (hereafter referred to as the member) that fly the ODFA Aircraft must:
a. Have attended two ODFA monthly meetings or events prior to be given flying privileges and be a Member in good standing.
b. Have paid a Security Deposit of three hundred dollars ($300) or an amount set by the Aircraft Committee to the Treasure which will held to such time as the member ceases to be a Privileged Member or a Member not in good standing.
Note: It is the Member’s responsibility to request a refund of the deposit less any outstanding debts within two years of being a member not in good standing. If a refund is not requested, the deposit will become the property of the ODFA. The interest earned from the deposit will be retained by the ODFA.
c. Have a valid pilot license with a current medical certificate.
d. Have a night flying endorsement (private pilot license) for night flying. Additionally, for night VFR cross country flights, the actual and forecasted weather will not be lower than a ceiling of 2,000 feet and flight visibility not less than 5 nautical miles and no precipitation in all airspaces.
e. For mountain flying, have a mountain flying checkout or proof of mountain flying knowledge and proficiency.
f. Have completed a successful proficiency check ride on the type being flown within the last year.
g. Attend an annual ground school session.
h. Attend a minimum of four (4) regular monthly ODFA meetings per year.
j. Completed the ODFA aircraft sign-out sheet which includes
Total Aircraft Take-off Weight prior to flight.
2. Additional check rides are as follows:
a. Pilots under 150 hours total time will require a currency
check after 30 days of no flying on the model.
b. Pilots under 350 hours total time will require a currency
check after 30 days of no flying on type.
c. Pilots under than 500 hours total time will require a currency check after 90 days of no flying on type.
3. Check pilots have the authority to suspend flying privileges for just cause. If flying privileges are suspended, the pilot has the right to appeal to the appropriate committee.

4. Each pilot will have a Pilot Information File, which will contain:
a. Signed agreement of the ODFA Rules.
b. Copy of the Pilot Information Sheet.
c. Record of Annual and/or Currency checks.
d. Copy of Flight Test.
e. Photocopy of Pilot License and Medical Certificate (update as necessary to indicate currency and qualifications).
f. Photocopy of the last page of individual logbook (updated annually).
5. Aerobatics are not permitted and only maneuvers contained in the approved aircraft manual are permitted. The aircraft must be flown in accordance with Transport Canada Regulations. Flying privileges can be suspended for violating either the Air Regulations or the Olds/Didsbury Flying Association Rules.
6. All pilots are to be familiar with the performance and operating data for the aircraft flown.
7. Smoking is forbidden while flying the ODFA aircraft(s).
8. The Member is responsible for keeping and returning the aircraft in a clean condition, and servicing the aircraft so it is ready for the next flight. This includes:
</DIR> - Fuel minimum half tanks.
- Windscreen cleaned.
- Cockpit cleaned of garbage (barf bags, pop cans, food, etc; vacuum cleaner is available at the terminal building).
- Aircraft exterior clean (water hose, etc is available at the terminal).
- If oil is added, enter amount in the remarks of the journey logbook.
- Note any aircraft systems that require servicing on the sign-in/out sheet.
- For any major aircraft unserviceabilities - advise the AME or an Aircraft Committee member of the ODFA.
<DIR> 9. Hangar responsibilities are:
</DIR> - Hangar Maintenance including the doors and its operations. Advise the Aircraft Committee of any deficiencies.
- The hangar(s) are to be kept in a clean condition – garbage cans emptied when required and floor clean of debris.
- Do not start the aircraft in front of the hangar – if debris blown into the hangar, it is the member’s responsibility to sweep the debris out of the hangar.
<DIR> 10. The Member is responsible for the aircraft at all times when in possession and is to ensure the aircraft is properly stored when on the ground.

11. In the event the ODFA aircraft is damaged, the Member is responsible for the first three thousand dollars ($3,000) of damage for the C150 and the first five thousand dollars ($5,000) of damage for the PA28 Cherokee 180. However, if the Member is operating the aircraft in violation of the Olds/Didsbury Flying Association Rules or Transport Canada Regulations, the Member will be responsible for the total cost of any damage repairs.
12. The Member is to report any aircraft damage to the ODFA Executive committee and Transport Canada (if a reportable occurrence) as soon as possible after the occurrence. The member is to cooperate with Transport Canada, Flying Association and with the Insurance Company in determining the damage and circumstances.
13. The Member is financially responsible for all damages caused when the aircraft is operated from airports/aerodromes that are not published in the Canada Flight Supplement unless Aircraft Committee permission is granted.
14. Payment of flying account is to be made in accordance with the Olds/Didsbury Invoice/Statement of Account. The account credit line is five hundred dollars; and, if it is expected that this amount will be exceeded, prior Treasurer approval must be obtained or a prepayment made. Nonpayment of account and/or exceeding the credit line may result in the suspension of flying privileged.

AND ODFA REGULATIONS AND IN CONSIDERATION OF THIS FLYING PRIVILEGE, I
PERSONALLY AND ON BEHALF OF MY EXECUTORS, HEIRS, ADMINISTRATORS AND ASSIGNS
DO HEREBY AGREE, COVENANT AND UNDERTAKE TO INDEMNITY AND SAVE HARMLESS THE OLDS/DIDSBURY FLYING ASSOCIATION AND EXECUTIVE AGAINST ALL AND ANY LIABILITY, COSTS AND EXPENSES ARISING OUT MY NEGLIGENT OR WILLFUL BREACH OF THE ABOVE
RULES AND REGULATIONS.
