A must read for parents and children! (RATING: 5 Stars (out of a possible 5 stars) - Rita Hestand Children and Literature "Home Is Never Far Away by Shari Gerson is a delightful tale about a beautiful white cat named Oliver who lives in a pink cottage by the forest. The illustrations by Athens Springer are a treasure to look at and with his magical artwork and the author's words, Oliver the cat comes alive right before your eyes... A cherished read for children as well as adults." -- JC Pinkerton Lisa's Book Review: "The reason this story captured my eye was the colorful graphics. The cute designs of everything Oliver sees is very appealing to what children want to see. I recommend this book very highly! ...Anyone that loves animals, especially cats, should read this story. You can relate to the wishes of Oliver the cat because he wants desperately to visit the outside world, then realizes what that really means, until he gets back home." -- Lisa Write Time Write Place: "HOME IS NEVER FAR AWAY is an irresistible e-book with bright, magical illustrations and story in rhyme. This easy to use e-book with large 'click on' arrows for forward and back, and a cozy pink house to go 'Home' will thrill any young child. A great starter book to teach computer skills to 5-7 year-olds and as a read along for 2-4 year-olds." "...Shari Gerson uses this lovely tale to teach the lessons of not roaming away from home and to trust in your friends. This first published novel, hopefully one of many, thrilled me as an adult and brought out my distant child." -- N.B. Leake Rainy Day Corner: "...Written in rhyming poem form, this ebook tells of a kitty's thirst for adventure, an adventure that proves exciting, while at the same time reminding him of the love and comforts of home. Mr. Squirrel shows Oliver how to think logically and use clues to find the right path, thus empowering Oliver with the knowledge that he can take care of himself. A very valuable lesson.
The illustrations are colorful and Oliver looks very soft and fluffy. I especially liked the happy little house and Oliver's green eyes. The book was very easy to navigate and each time that I have read it to my daughter, Sarah, she had this to say, "Again!" Now that sounds like a good recommendation to me." -- Michelle Smith ScribesWorld: "...An enchanting book sure to bring delight to children, and especially to those who like cats. Illustrations done by Athens Springer are wonderful. I am sure this artist must have first hand knowledge of cats. The cat on the head is one I especially identify with . and have often experienced in my own house!......The book is written in rhyming couplets, which should be especially appealing to small children. This is a fine little book with good potential for classroom 'free reading' time." -- Molly Martin EwritersPlace: "Shari Gerson's Home Is Never Far Away is a delightful tale of Oliver, a cat who dreams of things he has never seen, things that exist outside his window.... Home Is Never Far Away is one e-book parents and their little children will enjoy reading together. Gerson's rhymed way of telling Oliver the Cat's adventure lends appeal to children. The illustrations can only be described as "charming" and will sure keep young readers glued to their screens. Gerson succeeds in capturing the wonder of a cat and writing it down into something children can recite over and over.
If you're a parent with a 4-year old child or younger, this ebook is a great way to introduce him or her to children's ebooks. It's also a good nightly read you can do with your child so print this ebook out!" -- Shery Ma Belle Arrieta, Editor & Creator E-Books for Kids: "...This story draws readers big and small right into the exciting world of it's four-legged hero. My daughter's comment: "Gee, the cat is so fluffy!" The drawings are indeed so natural you think you can touch Oliver's fur. The text is rhyming, which is something I like very much. And so do kids! "Home is Never Far Away" deserves to become a classic!" -- Christine Spindler Free Software for E-Book Readers: Microsoft Reader (a must for Ebooks!)
