Aloha! Welcome to M.I.S.O.'s website. Contact us at: SoarMaui@hotmail.com People planning to vacation on Maui and either fly with us or visit one of our flying sites should check out our new sister site at: SoarMauiRC for visitor information and FAQs for R/C "Newbies". The new site is under construction so please bear with us. Unfortunately, our former site got "Lost" somehow by MSN so update your links. The old "talkcity.com/HobbyCt/SoarMaui" address won't work. Glide's Home Page is back on line! A note to Visitors We need your kokua, your understanding and help. The r/c soaring sites that we fly are not ours. They are all on private land. Please respect this. In the words of one recent visitor, "Take away nothing but memories, leave behind nothing but footprints." Maui Weather Today Mr. James Martin is our senior member and mentor. If you have a problem with a project or a question about airplanes, he's your man! Here are some articles he's written for our members. | About MISO and Maui R/C Soaring M.I.S.O. is a small club but our members are very active and enthusiastic R/C soarers. With Maui's excellent flying sites and ideal weather conditions, our members are out on the slopes every weekend and often during weekdays. They can usually be found at one of these popular soaring sites: Kahakuloa is an incredible coastal slope with great lift and beautiful scenery but fly here only with a M.I.S.O. member who has permission from the land-owner. Maluhia is an inland slope where nearly anything with wings can fly. Current A.M.A. license is required. Pauwela is for adrenalin junkies. Fly hard and fast at this coastal slope. Polipoli is Maui's "Bunny slope" and best suited to gentle, slow, polyhedral ships. Current A.M.A. license is required. Waihe'e is another coastal slope with incredible lift but the landing area is poor so bring a foamie to this site. A.M.A. Record Set Al "Glide" Battad sets the A.M.A. Class-A Slope Duration Record at Waihe'e! Hobby Fair 2000 Hobby Fair & Model Expo 2000 is happening at the Maui Mall on Saturday, October 21st, 2000. | M.I.S.O.
