A POORMAN SAVES A CITY, AND NO MAN TAKES IT TO HEART

DOCTOR VERNON CARRINGTON PROPHET GAD
November.1st.1935 - March.22nd.2005
Doctor Vernon Carrington was born November.1st.1935. one of five youth to George Carrington and Elfreda Myrie. They had met in Cuda. His dad worked as a store clerk and his mum sold juice.
In his early years, Vernon promoted dances with Coxsone Sound System while working as a shoemaker for Hanwood Shoe Company. He traveled to England, March 1960 and not happy with things there, he stow away on a ship to Jamaica two months later. Before this returning he vowed to God that he would do whatever God would asked if He would help him reach home safely.
Brother Gad got his conversion in May. 1961 and started to read the bible(1611 KJV) and other books pertaining to global affairs preparing himself to go out into the world and meet people. He moved to his grandmother's house, where he was influenced by her work in the Garvey Movement and membership in the Ethiopian World Federation. It was here that Gadman began JaH works to gather the Twelve Tribes of Israel.
Brother Gad met Brother Dan 1st and Brother Naphtali 1st and began holding meetings every Sunday in Davis Lane, thus the Twelve Tribes of Israel began, 25th.February. 1968, and the first task at hand was to gather the forty-nine executive members. Twelve brothers and their shadows, Twelve sisters and their shadows, representing the Twelve Tribes of Israel and Sister Dinah. It took three and a half years to achive this goal. During the years to follow, the Prophet sent members to Sheshemane, and established houses in 20 other countries and states. He was also one of the founders of the Jamaican RasTaFarian Development Community(JRDC) which he named in Sheshemane...Which is a registed non-governmental organization. The JRDC currently consists of members of the Nyahbingi, Bobo Shanti and Twelve Tribes of Israel houses.
Gadman gathered the people by teaching them to read the bible a chapter a day to learn for themselves, the truth of the scripture, showing them that each member belonged to the Twelve Tribes of Israel according to their time of birth, and each tribe represented a different part of the body of Christ. He pointed to His Majesty Emperor Haile Sellassie I, and the Ethiopian Royal lineage as the throne of David. He taught repatriation, self-reliance, unity, peace, justice, faith and prosperity. He taught whosoever will, he may come.
"O thou good and faithful servant; thou has been faithful over few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the LORD."
Blessed are they that enlarge Prophet Gad.
