Contact Address: Kent McCandless,  768 E 65 North,  Idaho Falls, ID 83401
Information:
I want to hear about the old base and maybe hear of some of my old buddies.  I was stationed at Kami Seya from August of 58 to October of 60.  I was a CT2(m) when I left.  Really enjoyed the duty, the friends and the food at the Navy's finest recipient of the Ney Award three years in a row.  Listen to the grunts complain about chow and we go in to multiple entrees, weekend breakfasts cooked to order, grilled (charcoal) steaks at least once a month.  Good Duty!  I have wanted to find several of my friends, Harold Dean Knight, Lawrence G. Hatmaker, and on and on.  We had a good unit that I was proud to be part of.  Even had some good Marines, Like Sgt English.  Larry Hruska went to Butte School of Mines in Montana, but I lost him after that,  I think he went to Australia.  I worked for a bank for 18 years after I got out and then was a Deputy Sheriff for 25 years before retiring. Thanks for going to the trouble to set up this site.

Information: Worked in the IBM shop in the basement of building 1. Started out collecting multi-colored paper from the ditty boppers and delivering green and pink to offices topside; nobody realized, nor I, that color blindness works is wondrous ways; only lasted 1 watch; as the green copies ended up on the pink desk and the pink ended up on the green desk; guess it mattered to somebody as I got transferred to the IBM shop; as I could type; and as they say everything else is history; been in computers, mostly, ever since; 'cept for a tour of duty in Karamursel, after a year in Monterey, and a tour on the USNS MULLER (habana) have lived in Hawaii since '71.
