If you wish your information posted to this roster, send it directly to the Webmaster and he will add you as soon as possible. Joining the website does not automatically add you to the roster. Name: Paul Phillips Rank/Rate at Kami: ISSN, IS3, IS2 Dates at Kami: Jan 80 - Jun 82 Contact Address: 5406 Taney Avenue Alexandria, VA 22304 Information: I remember the day the "Welcome to Gilligan's Island" sign was put in place in front of the BEQ in 1982....those were the days! I will have to dig out and post some of my old pictures. Returned to Kami for a week in 1993 as the Operational Test and Evaluation Force representative to observe the shutdown of FOSIF's old OSIS Baseline computer system and installation of the OBU. The base and surrounding area had changed dramatically. I retired from the Navy as an LDO Lieutenant in 1999, taught junior high school English (7th grade) for three years, and now work as a contractor/consultant at DIA in Washington. Would love to hear from anyone who knew me during my Kami tour. Regular haunts were along 4 1/2 street off isizakicho, China Town, Cozy Corner, Golden Cup and Starlight. I know you know all the places. The Zebra Club before it closed. Made 4 spec ops on Blueback (2); Guardfish (1) and Plunger (1). From Kami went to Taipei. Name: Ron Cornelius Rate/Rank at Kami: IS3&2 Dates at Kami: 1981-1984 E-mail Address: ron7co@yahoo.comContact Address: 1000 W. Spring Valley Rd. #239 Information: I got off active duty after three years watchstanding at FOSIF, and made first class in the reserves, what with all my top rate analytical experience. 20 years seemed like an eternity to someone in their 20's, so I didn't retire. Wish I could go back and do it all again, knowing what I know now. The Navy's a young person's game. I graduated from law school in Texas, and have been trying to make an honest living ever since. I married a wonderful Filipina gal I met in Dallas, and we plan to retire in the Philippines (small world). Great memories of Kamiseya, especially private rooms in the BOQ for "senior" enlisted, making it a great shore duty station. Great yakisoba, yakitori, and Japanese beer at the little bar just outside the main gate. Train trips to Kamikura, climbing mount Fuji, getting plastered out on the economy... I think my sleep patterns are still screwed up from 2-2-2-80. I remember CDR Seiden, Lts Neimeyer, French, Dean "Skeeter" Mayne (and his lovely wife), the Whites, Don Bourassa, RN Mitch "the Bitch" Mitchell, YN Little, Chief Webber ...too many names for these old brain cells to recall. Fair winds and following seas to all. More to follow
