Spent my tour entire tour in Sections 2 and 4 in the tunnel, except for a few months underwater on the Razorback and the Grayback. After twenty days as a civilian, I reenlisted and ended up in Karamursel, Turkey. After language school in DC (63/64) and elint school in Ft. Devens, Mass., I went to Nicosia, Cyprus (66/68) until the civil war broke out. I and a few others escorted some 700+ dependents to a "safe haven" in Beirut, Lebanon. After the civil war, I spent some time with the Corps in 2nd Radio Bn. at Camp Lejeune, NC. From there went to 1st Radio Bn. in 'Nam for a year. From ther went to NSGA Edzell Scotland (1970-73) as a Gysgt. Unfortunately, I got commissioned as an LDO 2nd Lt. and was immediately shipped back to the 2nd Radio Bn. Due to my "outstanding technical skills" the CO there made me the Assistant S-4 (motor pool, supply, mess, special services, laundry, etc.) officer. Thus did my wonderful association with the Naval Security Group come to an inglorious end. I finally got out of that assingment by volunteering to become a Nucleau Ordnance Officer and spent my final few years at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, Ca. I retired from the Corps in 11/76 as a 1st Lt. and entered the real world. I currently live with my wife Laura (LtCol. USMC Ret.) on a cat ranch in remote mountain top in western New Mexico.
