When You Shop!  The importance of champions in the pedigree is evident if thought is given to the resulting puppies and breeding adults.  It reflects the care given in thought to prior breedings to produce superior dogs in conformation, health, intelligence, temperament, and trainability.  No breeder or showperson is going to invest either the time in breeding to a desired goal or the thousands of dollars in travel expense, grooming, entry fees, and research on an inferior dog.  Nor are they going to take such care and expense on a dog that is not healthy and won't give a long life for breeding to reproduce like offspring.  When shopping for a puppy, please give all care in discrimination to choose a puppy out of a champion pedigree.  Request a five generation pedigree of the prospective puppy.  A puppy's champion pedigree will result in many long years of companionship and enjoyment and will quite possibly be suitable for foundation stock.
