The Adventures of Elly (Part 1)   by Shannon       One day, Elly the Hamster woke up. It was 6:30 a.m. She heard some strange noises. She went downstairs into the main hallway, and what did she see ?  Her Mother was tied up and being held captive by rats! Elly hurried away trying not to be seen. She got upstairs and started packing. Elly planned to leave immediately.  She finally got everything packed. As sad as it was already, she left.     On her way to find help, she ran into the Rats' homeland where the main colony lived. Luckily they were all at the castle and not there. She made it through the Rats' homeland back onto the prairies. She found the Rabbits and the Gerbils. Elly got each of the species to get their armies ready. Elly, the Bunnies, and the Gerbils went on their way to the castle.    When they got there, the Rats had taken over the whole castle. They saw the Rats, retreated a kilometer, and set up camp. Right away, they prepared an attack for battle. They sent their weakest warriors into the castle to create a diversion so that the other warriors could get in. When the diversion was created, the other warriors sneaked in and saved the Hamsters.  In the nick of time, too, as the queen was expecting a litter of 6 young Hamsters.   Finally the day had come ! The baby Hamsters were there. Elly was very excited! She couldn't wait to teach her brothers and sisters everything that she knew. When the 6 youngsters grew up, the story of Elly's adventure was passed on.               To be continued...............................     Copyright 2004 by Shannon
