Racing Habits ~ rambunctious blurrs

Rambunctious: adjective: not restrained or orderly

I read that Brussels Griffons are ideal for apartment living because they get enough exercise without regular daily outdoor walks.  That was one of our considerations prior to owning a dog.  Little did I imagine how well our pet would maintain his fitness level!

What I didn't read:  About once or twice a day, our griff speeds through our place in a blurr of motion!  He ricochets from the couch, down again, around coffee and end tables, into spaces I still don't know how he gets in and out of so quickly, and through the rooms.   If we sit on the couch, he will ricochet off of our bodies.  He loves the agility course he creates for himself.  He's happy to have us stand still and laugh.  Somehow he manages to screech to a halt before he slips across the ceramic tiles.

Spinner: One griffon will race around in circles for ten minutes when visiting  the owner's workplace.

High Flyer:   Brussels Griffons also don't take the time to consider the consequences of their actions.  They will decide they want to do something and go do it.  Simple?   No.  Not if it involves jumping / springing out of your arms to do it.  Many little fellows have broken their limbs from their flying excursions.  Be careful for them!

Last night my griff wanted to jump up onto the couch.  He tried to fly over a two-tiered coffee table.  The noise from his legs banging the table made me cringe.  I said "Ouch" for him and he got an extra long cuddling session.  Of course he didn't act hurt but that didn't mean he was not.  Dogs often do not display their pain as you would expect.
