Official South Korean release - subtitled in English. Nice side loading slipcase with red mylar logo lettering on cover. Two discs - movie and all bonus features, interviews, trailers, Making of... (extras not subtitled). Beside it is the official Korean VCD.

(Below) Official Japanese retail DVD release. DVD has a mirrored blue mylar sleeve with clear plastic slipcase that features embossed logo and lots of embossed rising water bubbles. Very attractive. Shown here still sealed. The box - including slipcase - was scanned front, back and side and then Photoshopped flat.

Official Japanese ad campaign promotion DVD - retailers only. Double-sided sleeve showed both DVD and VHS cover design. Full movie with special retail-only trailers and loops. Very rare.

NEW FIND!! (Below) Thailand re-release (2007) with alternate cover art. For this re-release the Korean poster art has been nicely altered to make it look like an oil painting.
(Below) Thailand VCD release of DEAD FRIEND actually has much nicer packaging than the DVD release. The VCD slipcase comes in two-toned artwork - the hair, eyes, lips and blood are raised and high gloss, while the skin tone is done in a contrasting matt finish. As added appeal, the insert jewel case features artwork back and front. Especially attractive about this release is that the back of the slipcase and the jewel case feature never-before-seen artwork .
NEW FIND!! (Below) Malaysia VCD release. The scratchiness in the top left corner of the cover is apart of the design. Two VCDs with English subtitles.
