"Hear us, people of Earth, for we have come to acquaint you with the processes of planetary evolution. Our purpose is to invite you to the stars. Our purpose is to awaken you to the experience of God's living presence as the focal points of your lives. Our purpose is to guide you in unlocking and accessing the dormant function of your minds. Welcome us, for we are your family."

So begins the opening chapter of Songs of the Arcturians, by Patricia Pereira.

This past March, however, I attended Dr. Joshua Stone's Wesak celebration in Mt. Shasta, California. Ascension was the theme. Presenters and participants from around the globe assembled for three days of talks, music, and guided meditations.

One of the speakers, Patricia Pereira, spoke about Arcturians. She was a plain, middle-aged woman wearing glasses, and dressed in slacks and a sweatshirt. Her smile was engaging; her humor, delightful. And she was one of the most grounded speakers I heard there. Her story was most compelling.

Arcturus, she told us, is the bright star that the handle of the Big Dipper points towards. It is a major star in Bootes, a major system. The beings who reside in that system are the Arcturians, nonphysical light beings. Because their energy is felt as a presence of unconditional love or creativity, they are often perceived as angels, guides, or divine inspiration.

Their purpose is to serve physical beings, particularly those on Earth. The love they have for us is limitless, often assisting our emotional healing. They see humanity as awakening to our status as aware cosmic citizens. And they are delighted.

As Pereira spoke, she unraveled an amazing history of the cosmos. She claimed that Earth had always been closely observed by beings of light from a multitude of stars, galaxies, and alternate universes. A major shift is about to take place on our planet, and the Arcturians have come to help us awaken our sleeping potential.

As she talked about "Christed extraterrestrials" and the possibility of humans becoming Galactic Citizens, I began to look toward the stars with hope. The message was about healing the planet and unconditional love. And my knowledge of Earth and the universe expanded. Seeing human events from a galactic perspective was a revelation!

Although there are several Arcturian sources on the planet right now, the information in this article comes primarily from the writings of Pereira. She is a multidimensional telepath, not a channel. She is a co-creator, remaining fully conscious throughout the transmissions. Even so, the words themselves contain energy themes whose patterns are especially designed to awaken readers.

Through a chain of amazing circumstances, Pereira began consciously receiving information from the Arcturians telepathically in 1987. Her primary guidance counselor is Palpae of Arcturus. He is an Ambassador representing the multidimensional Intergalactic Brotherhood of Light. Within four years she had transcribed the four volumes that make up the Arcturian Star Chronicles, designed as celestial teaching manuals. It took her 12 years to finally get them all published! The first one, Songs of the Arcturians, is a tremendous introduction.

The Chronicles are among the most powerfully spiritual material I have encountered. They contain short essays about many aspects of life on Earth. They work like flash cards—you can open to any section and find helpful and hopeful information.

In a chiding, yet loving way, the Arcturians remind us about our lack of care for the planet: "It is difficult for us to understand why humans permit themselves such liberties. In their eagerness to strip Eden bare, humans have become interlopers, trespassers upon the rights of other creatures great and small. There is no honor in causing other beings to cringe in fear. Although they are nature's principal custodians, most humans have set themselves apart from her. The way that they treat Earth is as if they were to take razors and tear at the hair and moles of their skin or to immerse their hides in vats of toxic waste."

"We cannot escape noticing the deterioration of human society, the rampant erosion and decay of the inner cities, and the grave ecological backlash resulting from overwhelming worldwide pollution as well as ongoing massive deforestation.

"As a whole, humanity is in a state of great despair. The men, women, and children of your planet are quickly losing hope that they will ever make right that which most profoundly torments them."

Time and again the Arcturians comment upon the selfishness of governmental leaders who do not serve those they represent: "World leaders, is it not the height of foolishness to pursue a course of downward-spiraling energies that can lead only to entire species destruction?

"From where and from whom did you receive authority to make such important decisions for all Earth's inhabitants? It would appear you have placed yourselves and everyone else on a suicidal course, for the proliferation of nuclear armaments, unrelenting environmental decay, and social breakdown are quite sufficient to finish the job. Yet you scurry along with abandon while the common folk, who would prefer moonbeams in their pockets, cry out for relief."

The Arcturians say that our polluted waters and toxic waste are symbolic of our polluted, toxic thoughts. These and other galactic beings are involved in purifying and refining the toxic thought forms that emanate from our planet. An unprecedented accumulation of warped energy threatens the stability of the light grids that connect Earth to other members of her solar family.

Even so, the Arcturians suggest that we do what we can to help wherever possible. They try to rouse us from our indolence and neglect of the planet. So how do we find our place and begin to transform a troubled world?
