My niece was in a similar situation to this. They were in charge of all work done on the farm, Including bailing hay in 107 degree weather. The fostermom was in constant contact with the CW. She had the CW convinced that my niece was a troubled youth and she got compensated for it. She also rode them like no ones business. If the stalls weren't mucked just right she would ground them to their rooms for weeks at a time. Made them write sentences about bad behavior. And we aren't talking 20 sentences either. But the long and the short of it is my niece was listed as having behavior problems and this fm was listed as one of the best in the county according to the CW. My niece says it was the worst house she ever lived in and she has been in 7 in 3 years. She loved the horses and she is a worker. BUT she said it was like slave labor. The FM family would sit around supervising while the fk did all the work. The FM teen age son acted like he was Forman and barked commands while Mom looked on. This family didn't work out side of the home. They made there income off of the HIGH risk children they had in their home and off of the sweat of the fk placed there. My niece complained to the CW and she brushed her off as lazy and not wanting to pull her own weight. -I know a fm that has a farm and only takes kids that can work it and yes the smaller ones on Ritalin. We are talking up to 10 fosters > at a time. This sickens me although maybe they are in a better place then > they came from.
