Who We Are and What We Do
Primarily a bicycle touring club, Folks On Spokes is at the forefront of cyclist advocacy, working with various government agencies to insure that the needs of cyclists are considered when road improvements, trail construction and laws regarding cyclists are reviewed. The club has had much success in influencing area governmental bodies to remember cyclists.
Folks On Spokes provides members with opportunities to ride with cyclists of similar riding abilities, with a variety of weekly routes from 15 to 100 miles in length. We have something for everyone.
Folks On Spokes Bicycle Club was formed in 1977 - by and for cyclists. Since then, the club has grown in size and stature, providing members with a wide variety of cycling activities while making an impact on the state of cycling in the Chicago south suburban area. Folks On Spokes currently has over 200 members from Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.

- Sunday: Featured Club Ride 8:00am start at the Target parking lot in Matteson. Maps & Ride Leaders.
Tuesday: Show & Go 6:30pm start at the Target parking lot Matteson Turtles (10-12mph) Mach Turtles (12-14mph) Wednesday: Fast Show & Go 6:30pm start at Old Plank Road Trail & Orchard, Park Forest (18-20+mph) - Show & Go 6:30pm Target parking lot Matteson-Turtles (10-12mph) Mach Turtles (12-14mph) Saturday & Sunday: Show & Go (recumbents & uprights) 9:00am start at the Cedar Road & OPRT, New Lenox.
