MY CLEAVER FAMILY CONNECTIONS
George CLEAVER m. Eliza Taylor 17 Oct 1840
(George's convict records indicate that he was a native of Leicestershire in England. He was tried at Warwick for stealing a quantity of leather from a Samuel Wood. His birth record has not been found but he was born around 1813. Eliza Taylor was listed in the 1828 NSW census along with her sister Sarah who was also born in the colony. Her mother was Ann BAILEY and the housekeeper to John SMITH. She was free after serving a 14 year sentence. She had been married to a Thomas BAILEY and her maiden name was SMITH. John Smith of Kent street may have been her brother)
