Solomon teaches us that manhood is not about having life as we wish it but about being strong and joyful in the face of life as it is.

 

Gal 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is …self-control.

 Without discipline, you will never become a mighty man if God. You may long honesty, humility and purity with all your heart; you may aspire to be a man of loving-kindness and to experience the joy of God; you may seek courage; but without discipline none of these great qualities will be yours. You may make some progress, you may make some changes, but unless you are disciplined, none of them will last or become permanently etched into your character. Discipline is essential.
