We'll post them shortly thereafter. * SONGS * I'm amazed how often I can listen to a song on a cd and then one day, "bam" the song reaches me in a way it never did before. Many times it comes from hearing it live or when it is done acoustically vs. full band such as "Ghosts of Jackson Square" on Austin Sessions. While my favorite song has changed several times over the years, if I had to pick just one, it would have to be "Take Me". Man, I love that song! ~ Kathy Yaz ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For all the obvious reasons and more, "Guinevere" is voted my first and favorite "Sing to Me" song. My husband, bless his heart, is a guitar player. He was in three virtually unknown bands traveling the East coast for a time, before we met. He readily admits he lacks the lyric writing gift and had to put his music dreams aside for fear of starvation and more gainful employment. Still, he is an excellent guitarist, when practiced, and is often requested to play whatever song has most recently moved me. Of all my many requests, "Guinevere" stands as my most beloved. My favorite line is, "Your love like wind, blows right by and sweeps me off the ground Your love sweeps me off the ground". Shouldn't all love have in it's existence, this kind of blissful passion? It's true that it's more likely found in the beginning of relationships, as it was with us. Still, like us, if you are one of the lucky ones and you have known it, it is possible to remember our way back there. Hey, come to think of it, "We can remember our way back there" is a good lyric line! And, when my sweet guitar man plays "Guinevere" for me, I remember my way back there.(: It ain't so bad hearing Edwin play it either, I think we can all suffer through, a time or two, or three...(: ~ Deb Watson ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * LYRICS * Edwin's lyrics are more than just lyrics to songs but beautiful poetry. In my opinion, "Rhythm of Life" is a masterpiece. Read the lyrics as a poem; it is so intense. Seeing Edwin perform live is truly "Poetry in Motion". ~ Kathy Yaz * STORIES * I remember back when I first “found” the music of EMB. Anticipating my first show was almost more then I could stand… Finally, the big night arrived and, my husband and I were meeting up with a friend/fellow fan that I’d gotten to know thanks to the www.edwin.com site. We had an idea that it was a good possibility we’d get to say a few words to Edwin and possibly the band after the show so, we were pretty excited and, nervous too. The show was AMAZING and, my husband and I were both hooked big time! There really is nothing like seeing them perform LIVE. After the show, there was a bit of confusion and, in not knowing what to do or, where to go, we were very late in getting our chance with Edwin around back of the venue. We watched him interact with a number of different people…he was kind, patient and extremely generous despite the cold November evening. As he turned to head to the van, I finally found my voice and uttered his name. He turned around, stopped and said hello. I approached him and, we had a bit of a teary (on my part) conversation and, he most generously gave me a hug and thanked me for sharing “my story” with him. He also had engaged my husband in our conversation by now and, I got up the nerve to ask for a quick picture. Long story here but, to cut it down, the camera was a loaner and, I had no clue what I was doing in my nervous state. Edwin waited patiently for not just one but, three pictures to be taken, all the while chatting and laughing with us…putting us totally at ease. Just as we finished the last picture, a couple of young girls rounded the corner, screamed “EEEEDDDDDDDDWWWWWWWIIIIIIINNNNNN” and…he was gone in a flash!. The reason I shared this long, drawn out story again is that a couple of things strike me as something to share on this “Positive Vibrations” page. Edwin was as kind and generous that night as we’d heard he was. This was not only our first (of many) show but, our first encounter with someone of his “caliber” being so kind and appreciative of the people that took the time to come and share a couple hours of their time and hard earned money with him and his band. My husband and I had become fans after hearing a couple of the songs on the radio up here in Michigan and, I had done some stuff on the www.edwin.com site (posted, chatted, etc…). We were told by everyone that this was what to expect but, we were skeptical. We were SO pleased to learn, first hand, that this was true. Also, as I mentioned, it was a cold, yucky November night and, it also struck us how patient Edwin was with everyone despite having to be freezing. That also has stayed with me all these years…I remember getting a live recording from a show he did a few nights later and, he had a cold. I’ve always felt badly that he probably got it standing out there that night. And, quickly, I mentioned the camera and the trouble I had. I saw seven or eight shows within that next year and a half and, at a couple shows after that first one; I continued to have camera issues. I swear Edwin wanted to run when he’d see me coming with my camera in hand for a while there! It was kind of a running joke…I knew he knew it was me when he saw my new camera at one of the shows and mentioned it “Hey, I see you got a new camera…finally!” So…there’s my first “Positive Vibration.” The appreciation that Edwin and the band have for us, their fans and, their willingness to show us, is part of what makes me proud to “spread the Ed!” That, and “love for the music” keeps me here!! ~ Karen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our 6 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer 15 months ago. She completed treatment last November, and through the grace of God is currently in remission. She loves Edwin, as her dad is a huge fan as well. About three weeks ago, without me knowing, my wife and daughter wrote a fan letter to Edwin. This past Monday, my wife received and email from his management. Basically, it said that no specific pre show appearance was planned, but Melissa had spoken directly to Edwin, and he would love to meet Lauren and our entire family. (We are also blessed with another two year old daughter). We showed up at the Exit/In at 5:30, and first came across Craig. He asked if I was Lauren's dad, which of course was somewhat unexpected. He went to find Edwin, who came out from under the bus a few minutes later. He was everything I had heard about and more. He talked with us for a few minutes, then went searching for a guitar. He asked my daughter what her favorite song was, and she was so nervous that I had to tell him, Could Not Ask for More. He played three songs for her, just pulled up a stool and sat right in front of us. We took a few pictures, then he rounded up two kids tee shirts and autographed them for each of our daughters. All the while, my wonderful wife was chasing our two year old all over the place. It was a special night that we will all remember. Even our youngest was asking to see "Edwin" after we left to get some dinner. To top the evening off, I had the opportunity to see an awesome set with Edwin and the Band. ~ Scott Frank ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our story behind the story: When my husband and I first were introduced to "Honor Among Theives", the CD from which"Guinevere" derives, we were a very poor young couple, in fact, the CD was a loaner. During that time, we had been through constant struggles putting my husband through college, seeing him graduate and find his first entry level job. We endured great change as I went from the bread winner, more like crouton winner, to new stay at home mom, with brand new baby, no owner's manual included, and all the fears and responsibilites that entales. Needless to say, we didn't really have alot of money for entertainment like CDs and concert tickets. We were emerging from what we refer to as survival mode, having in laws donate groceries and gas money just to make it through to the next little pay day, to attempting to go it all on our own. THANKFULLY, We did have great passion for each other and we did manage to have truly meaningful music available to keep up our spirits. This is how Edwin's music found its way to us. In the beginning, we didn't really know anything about Edwin, didn't see him, or have any exposure whatsoever, other than that first CD. All we had was his music and we were listening, alot. I think Edwin himself has said that for many of his fans, his music becomes the backdrop of their lives, and that is true of us. ~ Deb Watson ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would like to share my story. My husband Kurt knows that I really enjoy Edwin and his music and how much it means to me. I had a bit rough preganacy towards the end. When the doctor's finally decided to induce my labor on November 2, 2005. The day I will never forget. Kurt brought my whole Edwin collection to the hospital for me to listen to. I was very uncomfortable. At 7:08 pm I had my daughter Kaylee Morgan. I'll Be was playing in the background while I got to see my husband Kurt hold our daughter. I was so uncomfortable because for the last 2 months of my pregnancy my daughter was huge. She was born 10 pounds 10 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long. I will never forget that moment that I finally got to see her. She has her daddy's looks and his beautiful blue eyes. I just thought I would share that. Thanks for reading this. ~Kris
