Special Release Bulletin to the people of the United States of America

While stories of Florida's hanging and dimpled chads have covered news
pages since Election Day, a new Nation investigation reveals that Florida
elections officials-including Secretary of State Katherine
Harris-engineered an electoral system that was stacked against black
voters from the start and was in place well before the election.

According to the investigation by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist John
Lantigua in the April 30 issue of The Nation, Florida's black
community-bitterly at odds with Jeb Bush-mounted a voter registration
drive that increased black voter turnout in November by an astounding 65
percent. In what many in the black community saw as a direct response to
their efforts, the state took steps that led to the wrongful
disenfranchisement of many current voters and failed to make appropriate
preparations to accommodate the huge numbers of new black voters that had
registered since the last state election.

This is the mob of "angry Florida citizens" who stormed the Miami-Dade County, FL canvassing board & demanded that the recounting be stopped.  As you can plainly see by their job positions & place of residence, they are not just your average Florida citizen after all- they are Republican employees who were paid, who came from all over the US for the specific purpose of shutting down the recounting in Florida, and who deceived the American public.

From the Democrat National Committee official site, Chairman Terry McAlliffe says:

Election 2000: Florida Recount

"Al Gore Won Florida: You Can Count on It"
-- DNC Chair Terry McAuliffe

Since the Supreme Court effectively ended the presidential election, a number of news organizations have began to undertake reviews of ballots across Florida. Recently, newspapers have started to report the results of their efforts. Several of these recounts show evidence that, had over- or under-count ballots been counted, Gore would have gained hundreds -- if not thousands -- of votes in Florida: more than enough to have overcome Bush's razor thin 537 vote margin.

GOP Email Alert!

There is an email currently circulating which makes the false claim that George Bush won more votes than Al Gore in the 2000 election. This is simply not true. After adding up the numbers from each of the Secretaries of State nationwide, Al Gore won the popular vote by more than 494,000 votes. Do not let the far-right forget -- or change -- the truth.
