Rees, Susan - Class of 1985 - (see Potter notice)

 

Audrey Simpson passed away as a result of a car accident in the late 1970s.  She is dearly missed by friends. God Bless you Audrey.

Smith, Donna K. - Class of 1959 and Teacher

Donna passed away on November 12, 2004, in her 63rd year.  Donna was a student at Delta from 1955-1959 and a cheerleader.  She also worked in the school office after graduation, as well as being a commercial teacher at Delta.  Donna later pursued a business career and when she passed away, Donna was a manager at the Royal Connaught Hotel in Hamilton.

Steeves, Maureen (nee Moran) - Class of 1977

Maureen passed away October, 1997.

Sturrup, Bill

Bill Sturrup was born on June 20, 1938.  He enjoyed spinning records at Delta's dances, as well as participating in the choir and glee club.  Bill got his start in radio on Paul Hanover's high school show on CHML, where reporters would come on from each high school. He helped found the school newspaper and quickly earned him the nickname "Scoop".  Bill's first paying job was writing a high school sports and old country soccer column for The Hamilton Spectator.  He began his long, 45 year career at CHML in 1961, and quickly became a familiar and welcome voice to Hamiltonians. Bill covered just about every major news story in the city, and was inducted into the CHML Hall of Fame in 2004.  He leaves behind his wife Kathy of over 40 years, his two children Debbie and Mike and his three grandchildren.  Bill passed away on January 16, 2007, at the age of 68.

Troietto, Dino

Dino passed away as the result of a heart attack.

West, Krystal Ann

Krystal Ann passed away as the result of an automobile accident on January 23, 2003.

Wood, George Arthur - Teacher

George passed away at home on January 8, 2004 in Sydney, BC, in his 92nd year.  George was a teacher at Delta for 25 years.  He leaves behind his wife Mary, stepchildren Anne, John and Joe, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Woods, Deborah (Debbie)

Debbie Woods was a Delta student from approximately 1974-1979.  Debbie lived with her dad, a bricklayer, and two brothers on the corner of Tuxedo Avenue North and Roxborough Avenue., opposite the former Kenilworth Police/Fire Station.  Debbie passed away from complications of diabetes in late December 2000 or early January 2001.  Debbie will be sadly missed by her many friends and acquaintances.  Rest In Peace Deb.

Yates, Melissa

Melissa passed away after a valiant battle with Hodgkins Disease in 1998.  She was a well-liked, honour-roll student who attended Delta and WH Ballard schools.
