In Memory of Delta teachers and students who have passed away (Please submit your additions, corrections, remembrances and photos to the community manager here for posting. Please provide information in a clear, concise manner including, if possible, the person's graduation year, and year of passing. Thank you) Agis, Kristin Lynn (see Fraser notice) Antonello, Carlo - Class of 1977 Carlo passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on March 12, 2007, in his 48th year. A cherished husband to Pamela for 24 years and a loving father to Mallory (Peaches) and Dayna (Champ). Carlo (Guido) was a dedicated constable with the Hamilton Police, with 29 years of service. His contagious smile and warm heart will be missed by many relatives and friends including his numerous hockey, baseball and fishing buddies. Carlo was actively engaged in the community through his involvement as a coach with the Saltfleet Soccer Association, volunteer with the Canadian Blood Services and other charitable organizations. Augustine, Amanda Marie Suddenly on Saturday, October 27, 2007 in Kitchener, in her 20th year. Amanda leaves behind her parents Janet Ogilvie and Kevin Rodwell, and Gerry and Norma Augustine, sisters Rachel-Lynne, Haley and Courtney, as well as many other family members and friends. Amanda was a second year student at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University and a proud graduate of Delta. She was employed at McDonald's on Queenston Road for the past four years. Black, Murray - Teacher On August 10, 2006, at the age of 80 years. Murray leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 55 years, Evelyn, and children Judie, Paul and Heather. Murray's music career included directing the music departments at Delta for 15 years and Westdale for 12 years. He also introduced an instrumental music program at Redeemer College and was involved in many other musical organizations. He was Director of Music at Stanley Avenue Baptist Church, Truth Gospel Church, Park Avenue Church and Stoney Creek Alliance Church. Murray's influence has resulted in many students pursuing careers in music and teaching. This was evident at the Delta Reunion in 2001 and the Westdale Reunion in 2006. Blackborrow, Joseph Charles - Teacher After a short illness, at St. Joseph's Hospital on November 6, 2007, at the age of 87. Survived by wife Glenice of 63 years and children Allan, Theresa and Jean, seven grandsons, and many other family members and friends. Joe served four and a half years in the R.C.A.F. 5th Group Bomber Command Radar during WWII. Upon return from the war, he returned to school obtaining an Honours B.A. in History from McMaster University. He held a teaching position with the Hamilton Board of Education where he taught history at Central Collegiate, Delta Secondary and Westmount High School until retirement in 1982. He was a past member and past president of Philos Club, member of the Board of Directors RHLI Museum and member of the Regimental Senate. Blacklock, Robert - Class of 1980 Burch, Russ Russ passed away on June 1, 2004, in his 51st year, of a heart attack. Carpenter, Shirley Ann (nee Mouncey) On November 27, 2003, in her 68th year. Beloved wife of Norman Carpenter. Dear mother of Bill, Deb, Paul, and Kelly. Clapham, Sandy - Class of 1990 Sandy passed away as the result of a car accident in 1992 while returning from a cottage with friends. She was 19 years of age. Dean, Jeanne Jeanne passed away from cancer. Dingwall, Dorothy, Reg. N. - School Nurse On September 21, 2006, in her 94th year. Loving mother of Bruce Ian Dingwall. She will be missed by her dear and special friends James P. Dustan and Berna Anne Nugent. Edge, Daniel Daniel passed away from cancer. Fraser, Kristin Lynn (nee Agis) Following a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, November 6, 2003, in her 33rd year. Dearly loved wife of Marty Fraser of Burlington. Loving mother of Brock. Beloved daughter of Judy and Gil Agis of Cayuga. Sadly missed by her brother Perry. Kristin was a graduate of Delta High School, Mohawk College, Brock University, and was an Analytical Chemist with Boivail Corporation in Mississauga. Gaudreault, Gregory - Class of 1985 After a courageous battle with diabetes, Greg passed away on November 7, 2003, at the age of 36. Greg will live forever in the hearts of his wife Shelley, his daughters Kaytlyn and Sydney and his son Tyler. Gola, Milan - Class of 1985 Milan passed away in 2000 from cancer. Hannah, Gladys Gladys passed away in April of 2001. She attended Delta in the sixties and was popular for her love of the school dances. At the time of her death she was married to another Delta student, Doug Southon, of Exeter, Ontario. Hayes, Kenneth Stuart - Class of 1958 Ken passed away on November 3, 2003, at the age of 65. Ken leaves his wife Helen Margaret, and children Amber and Glen. Ken was a former president of Delta who kept his election promise to get a jukebox in the cafeteria. Ken was a resident of Rossland, BC and was buried in Whiterock, BC.
